Hi Cindy,
I was reminded last month, being exactly 2 years since I adopted Schnitz ( now
Cypress ) from you, about how thankful I am to you and your staff.  He is
amazing and the best little guy! My response is very overdue but  thank you
again for all that you and your team did, I couldn't have  asked for a better
little dude!

Sincerely, Sophie    Jewell

Hi Debbie,
Sorry it took so long for me to get these pictures of Gibson
(Benjamin)to you!  Here they are!  Enjoy!  He is a very mischievous puppy but he
is very very lovable!!!!! We absolutely adore him!!!

Lizzy now Minerva adopted 2013

Picture
Debbie,Thank you so much! Lizzy, who we have renamed Minerva, is the sweetest smartest
puppy I could have asked for! She is already potty trained which blows my mind.
If I get the chance I would like to send you this pic I took of her on her new
bed. She is so wonderful! Easily the best choice I have ever made! Thanks so
much! Lisa

Callie adopted 2010

Picture
Dear Cindy,

As I just rubbed Callie's belly, I was reminded that I have been meaning to
write to you for way too long to tell you how grateful we are
to have her in our family. We adopted her  through you back in August 2010, and,
from the moment she joined us, she has just been the most wonderful dog. You all
must have taken great  care of her when she was a baby.

I thought I'd send you some long overdue photos. There are so many to
choose from,  but here are a few favorites. She is truly the most wonderful
dog.

Best regards, and many thanks for the service you provide,

Laura

Zeke adopted Feb 2013

Picture

Hi Denise,

I hope all is well this afternoon!

I just wanted to send a message to say a very BIG THANK YOU to you and your staff!

Two weeks ago today, our lives were blessed beyond measure when we picked up Zeke!

He is undoubtedly the cutest, sweetest puppy ever and he has brought untold happiness to our family!

He has instantly become a beloved member of our family and it is hard to remember life before him!

He is wonderful with our daughters (ages 5 and 10) and everyone he meets (our
family/friends, the vet, etc.) says he is the most wonderful puppy!

We of course agree! :-)

We are certain that Zeke's loving nature is in no small part due to the care he received from his Foster Mom - Jennifer!

Jennifer stayed in contact with us during the weeks leading up to Zeke's adoption to let
us know how he was doing and even sent texts/pictures from Zeke to our daughters!

And, she has checked in with us since Zeke's arrival to see how he is enjoying his home and to give suggestion for training!

When I spoke to Jennifer last Saturday, I told her that if/when we adopt another puppy,
we will be requesting to adopt one that has been in her care!  She is a wonderful Foster Mom!

You, Jennifer, and everyone in your organization are fantastic - And the love you give the puppies in your care is a blessing to
all!

Thank you again for everything - Zeke is the very best and we love him dearly!

I've included a few pictures of Zeke in his new furr-ever home!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Tucker adopted July 2012

Picture
Hi Debbie,
I'm sorry I have not emailed you sooner to update you on how
Abbott (now Tucker) is doing! We adopted him this past July, and could not be
happier! He is the sweetest little guy and immediately made himself right at
home. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him, and he has made quite the
impression on our neighborhood. We have dogs on either side of our home, and he
spends much of his day outside playing. He has brought us so much joy and so
many laughs!

This weekend, we experienced a large blizzard, which dropped
over 24 inches of snow. Tucker was a little nervous at first (when he started
sinking) but adjusted quickly, and spent the afternoon hopping in and out of
snowbanks with the other dogs. I was a little worried since he'd never seen snow
before, but now, we can't get him to come in!
Thanks you so much for bringing Tucker into our lives. He is very happy and well-adjusted (and just a little bit
spoiled!)

Hope all is well,
Cory D'Arco

Moose Man adopted 2013

Picture
Dear Cindy and Denise,

Moose has been with me for almost a week and I
couldn't be happier.  He  is such a happy boy and has the best disposition.
He has bonded very  tightly to my daughter, and he follows her everywhere.
My cats still  don't quite know what to make of him, as he whines and
cries to be their friends!

I didn't know that there was something missing in my life until Moose arrived.
Thanks for all the hard work you do for these amazing animals!

Stella adopted 2012

Picture
Hi Debbie,

I took the picture this morning when I was trying to get Stella to wake my
11 year old son up. He is a night owl! She loves to bed hop and we find her in
all of the kids beds during the week. She also thinks she's a lap dog and often
tries to climb in our laps when we are sitting on the couch.

Stella is wonderful. She did well in basic puppy training and we are going
to put her in intermediate training in a few weeks. The training was also great
for socialization. She also loves playing with my mother-in-laws 1 year old dog
Cocoa Muffin :) We absolutely love her and can't imagine not having her as part of our family!
Thank you for all of the work that you do and for taking such great care of her
and her siblings. Please also thank her mom's family for us! Lisa

Bradley adopted in 2012

Picture
Debbie.

Here are a few
pictures of Bradley.  We kept his name.  I don’t know if I told you or not but
we got a 2nd puppy the very same day he  arrived.  His name is Duncan and he is an English Mastiff.  The two of them are a complete riot together.  We have done puppy class with the two of them.
Bradley is the scholar and may even excel at agility class.  Duncan excels at
napping J
We think Bradley has quite a bit of Irish Wolf hound in him but may also have
Chow (based on the black spots on his tongue), Poodle (we don’t think he sheds),
and who knows what else.  He’s a great dog regardless of the collection of
breeds in him.  We love him.  Thanks again.

Champ (was Brewster) adopted Nov

Picture
Hi Debbie, Just wanted to thank you again Brewster is absolutely an amazing puppy. He has a
perfect temperament both playful and lovable.  He is extremely smart and behaves
so well.  He's learned about 10 tricks all ready and learns them in about 15
mins of repetition with treats as a reward.  He is also all ready 40 pounds and
is built all muscle.  I couldn't be happier and thank you again for your help.
I have a new best friend.  I named him champ, here are a couple photos I thought
you might enjoy.

Sorry it took so long to get in touch with you.
Its  been crazy here with the holidays and puppy. I just finally got a minute
and I  wanted to write and thank you. I appreciate all that you did for Pirate
and us.  He has brought us so much joy.

Sincerely

Picture
Merry Christmas Debbie,
We are having so much fun with Gavin, we love him more and more every day!
We spoil him with treats and he has learned how to shake, stand, sit, and
speak!
He loves to terrorize our cat! He is curious, and thinks everything is a toy!
He is a very happy boy who loves car rides!
We think we know whom the father is, we think his father was a Corgi.
So that would make Gavin a Borgi!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Chance adopted Dec 2012

Picture
Debbie,

We wanted to thank you so much for rescuing Chance.  He is a wonderful puppy.
I've never had a puppy and wasn't sure what to expect but I am presently
surprised how great he is.  He has not had any accidents in his crate or in the
house and he slept all night and has not even barked.  Once again, thank you for
the amazing Christmas gift for our family.

Jill

Picture
Jill with her new pillow and of course the blanket she is laying on is  her
personal (mine, mine and mine) to her.  lol  We all remember our
precious Jill!  I seriously did not think she would live.  "Pocket
Beagle"  she was only around 3 lbs when Cindy got her.  I cried when
I  saw her and her little belly was so swollen and every bone in her body
showed.  She was left in a ditch she could not climb out of, left there
to die!  Dr. Ashley came to the rescue then Cindy and then me and I  could
not give her up after babysitting for the weekend!  lol  Then
Melissa's (Pooches on the Move's Coordinator in Portland, ME), brother  and
sister and law and family wanted to adopt this precious pocket  beagle that
would not get more than ummm maybe 15lbs.  They live in MN.  So
Melissa and our Dan the man  got Jill and kept her until Melissa  went
to MN.  She loves the kids and the family excepted the fact that  she was
not a "Pocket Beagle"!!  lol  She is a full blown Coon Hound and they
love her even as big as she has gotten.  As you can tell from the  picture
she is very spoiled!  They love her so much as do all of us that had a part
in her.  I am sure she is still the "Silly Jilly" we all  remember.  I
so appreciate them keeping us posted about her!  God Bless  all the
adopters for loving our pooches we adopt to them.  I am sure the pooches
give as much in return also.

Bowie adopted 2012

Picture
Hi,

It has been about 2 weeks since I adopted Bowie and I thought you might  like an
update.  It took him a few days, but he has adjusted very well  to his
forever home.  He is a joy to have, and we are both so grateful  for you
and your organization for bringing us together, and all that you do.
Please also extend my thanks to the woman who drove him up here,  and Kate in
Rhode Island who helped make this possible.  I attached a  picture of Bowie
making himself at home on my couch.  I hope you have a wonderful Holiday!
Best Wishes,
 Ryann & Bowie

Molly adopted 2 1/2 years ago

Picture
We adopted Molly about three
years ago; Misty (Rica) about 2 1/2 years
ago.  They joined two other
adoptions, Parker and Pearl who we adopted
from the Women's Humane
Society.

Misty was supposed to be a
foster, but of course we could not give her
up.  Every day and every night
Parker, Molly and Misty keep me
company.  I don't know what it would be
like if I didn't have them.
They have  brought so much happiness and love
into my life and I am very
grateful.  I find it very relaxing to sit and
pet them.  The people at
"Pooches"  have been extremely helpful and are
literally life savers.  I
appreciate everything they have done for me, and
continue to do for others who
  want to adopt.

Thank you,

Picture

Hi Heather,
I just wanted to update you on "Thursday" who I adopted back in August 2012
from you guys. I actually changed her name to Bexley. She is wonderful and I
couldn't be happier with her!  She is now going on 8 months old and is doing
just fine with me in  Maryland. I wanted to thank you again for adopting her to
me! I've  attached some photos so you could see her growing and enjoying life as
a puppy. Please do forward these to Denise and Bexley's (Thursday's) old
adoption mommy if you would like! I am currently looking for another dog so
Bexley can have a friend to play with! Enjoy the photos!

Dawson

Picture
Hi Debbie,

This is Jane Kline, the one from Allentown, pennsylvania area
who adopted Alec (now Dawson) from you back in April.

Just thought I'd
send you another recent photo of Dawson so you can see  how big he's got. He now
towers over my other baby, Runway who's a  Schnoodle. They are totally different
personalities! Dawson wants to be  at my side every single minute! If I go into
my bedroom at night to get  ready for bed, he sits outside my door and waits for
me to come out!  Runway is very loving too, but a little more independent.

Hope all is well with you. Have a wonderful holiday. I'll send you new pics
from time to time. Enjoy this one.

having fun with assorted chew toys and running around outside. She is so sweet. Karen

Gavin adopted Sept 2012

Picture
Debbie,

Derek and I cannot be anymore pleased with Gavin!
He has really warmed our hearts, and is settling well into our new
home!
He is absolutely perfect! We love how he presents himself while he walks, and how
when he runs he slicks his ears back!! For a small dog he is lightening fast!
Loves to run around in the yard, catching loose leaves and fighting with
grass!
He is fully house trained, and we never even had to crate him! He is a smart pup
for sure! He learned how to sit, go up and down the stairs in less than 3 days.
He is also in the process of being taught tricks like; shake, dance, get your
toys and pick up your toys, and hopefully I can teach him how to play dead when I don't feel so pregnant!
He loves to give kisses, hugs and cuddle!!
We cannot thank you enough for saving his life. He is just wonderful!
We loved him!
Have a
wonderful day!

- Emily

Hailee adopted 2012

Picture
Hi Debbie - we made it!! She is absolutely adorable!!! was a rough ride in
the van - the ladies said the dogs barked the majority of the time - so she
slept most of the way with her head on my lap! All of the things that the puppy
may do on the list that you sent does not apply to her! She has eaten, has gone
to the bathroom 3 times outside, runs, plays, snuggles and is trying to sleep
when someone is not trying to catch her for a hug.  Here is a picture of her and
her new sister Penelope and one out side in her new yard.  She is lovely! Thank
you so much for your care and we will continue to send updates!
Best wishes -

Gibson aka Benjamin adopted 2012

Picture
Hi Debbie,
I just wanted to let you know that Benjamin is doing great!  His name is
now Gibson.  He is the sweetest thing ever!  We love him so much!
I think he has gotten bigger just in the week that we have had him.  I
took him to our vet on Wednesday and they said he was 20.6 lbs!  I will try
to attach some pictures later.I hope all is well with you, and again, thanks soooooo much for our precious puppy.      Deb Mills

Little Dixie Mae

Picture
Hi Debbie, this is a picture of Dixie with her Daddy.  He loves to pick her up
because he says, soon he won't be able to.  She is getting big.  Took
her to the Vet yesterday and she weighs 24 lbs now.  She is so good, no
problems whatsoever.  She loves her big brother Ryder and goes to the
park and swims and plays like a big doggie.  I love her so much and  again
thank you guys for bringing her to us.  Hope everything is well  with
you.  Keep up the awesome work.

Barney adopted 2012 (used to be Bodie)

Picture
Hi Debbie. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.  We picked up Barney on
Tuesday.  The vet tech in Manchester was exceptional..  He's adorable, and his first visit to our
veterinarian confirmed he's in very excellent health.  He's now had his
rabies shot and is on the worming routine but there's no sign of any
parasites.  You did an excellent job.  He hasn't yet had an accident
in the house, and he sleeps through the night!  Of course, the little guy
has a terrific appetite, and our vet underscored your advice to keep him from
eating too much and growing too fast.

One thing, however, the general consensus is that he might have some
Irish Wolfhound in him because of the square jaw and whiskers. Our vet confirmed
that he very much looks like he will be a VERY BIG dog.  That's just fine
with us - we would love him no matter what he was!   He runs all day
exploring everything in the yard (under good supervision) and plays well with
his two brothers.  In the house, his big paws clomp around like a horse on
the hardwood floor.  He's a great dog.   We're delighted.  Thank you for allowing us to adopt Barney.  We're in love with him!  Liz

Faith AKA Olivia

Picture
Hi Pooches on the Move!
I just wanted to update you on this little cutie previously
known as Olivia. Faith is now six months  old and doing perfectly well!! She is
the perfect fit to my family and  as sweet as can be! She made herself at
home as soon as she got here!!  Every night she cuddles up to me in my bed and
falls asleep. She got  spayed a month ago and I couldn't wait to take her
to the dog park as  soon as she healed. She absolutely loves the dog park and
gets along  with all of the dogs there and is so gentle with the little kids.
She  is such a happy and energetic puppy and I just love her so much.
Thank  you so much for everything you do!!
   -Mikayla Cooke

Miss Dixi

Picture
This is my new watering hole where I made lots of friends.  We go
almost everyday and lots on the weekends!!
She is doing great, still VERY leery
of men though, people in general.
LOTS of energy and will actually pinch you
with her teeth if youdon't pay attention to her.  She is very attached
to me and basicallyhugs me every morning and night when I come in from
work.

I love her to pieces, best thing I have ever done.

Hope you are well.  Can't believe summer is winding down and we have had Dix almost 4
months now.  Time flies!

Little Dixie aka Emillia adopted in August 2012

Picture
Debbie,

Thank you so much for little  Dixie.  Ryder is crazy about her.
They play like two puppies.  He  chases her and she chases him and they
love it.  He is very good with  her and brings her toys to play with.
He has been very patient, like a  good big brother.  She is so sweet and is
doing wonderful with her  training.  She only had one pee-pee accident
yesterday in the house.   She always poops outside and will go to the door
to let me know that she needs to go potty.  She sleeps in the crate at
night and doesn't even  cry at all.  She is a good girl.  I will send
you more pics when I take  them.  It's hard to get those two to sit
still.  She already has learned sit, down and stay.  She also plays
with the cat and the cat looks for her and Ryder so they can all play
together.  It's so cute to watch.   Thanks again and I will keep in
touch.

 Sam Adams adopted in 2011

Picture
Hi Pooches on the Move. We just wanted to give you an update on Sam  Adams. We

lives. He is such a love and definitely a daddy's boy. Thank you for bringing
him into our lives! -laura and joe

Arlo adopted in 2012

Picture
Denise and everyone at Pooches on the Move,
We wanted to thank you  for
helping bring Arlo home to us! He's been here for a little over 2  weeks and it
feels like he has always been here! We can't imagine what  it would have been
like without him. Everyone in our extended family has taken a liking to him! We
haven't met one person who hasn't fallen in  love with him. My cousins spend the
weekdays at my house and he couldn't be happier to hear "the boys are here"
every morning. He adjusted very  quickly and is doing great! He still can't seem
to figure out why the  cats won't play with him as much as he'd like, but loves
playing with  his dog cousins! He's the perfect fit for us and we're so glad we
found  him! His foster mom wanted updates and photos, but I don't have her
email so if you could pass the message on to Kris we would really  appreciate
it!  Attached are some pictures of Arlo trying ice cream for  the first
time and hanging with his cousins.  Thank you so much!

Red adopted in 2012

Picture
I just wanted to update you on Red!  Justin and I have had Red for a
little over a month now and we absolutely love him! We could not have  asked for
a better dog! Red has settled in well and already thinks he  owns the place.
We have already taken Red rock climbing with us and  swimming and he
loved every minute of it!  I am so glad that we were  able to give Red a
loving home, all he wants is some love and we are  more than happy to give it to
him.  If you could please pass this along  to Kay and Dan, Red's foster
parents and let them know that he is doing  well I would really appreciate it.

I have attached some recent pictures of Red, if you could pass them along
too that would be great.
I just want to thank everyone from S.H.A.R.P. and Pooches on the Move, and
Kay and Dan for helping us give Red a home!

Nueve's first Birthday

Picture
Hi Cindy,
I just wanted to give you a little update on Nueve. We
are thrilled to have him here. Here are a couple pictures. One from  today
(his birthday) and another from this week with the kids. He gets  along fine
with my old dog after a bit of an adjustment.  Of course  Nueve wants to
play and Cabo at 12.5 wants to be left alone.  They  coexist perfectly
though and lay next to each other quite a bit. I  thought maybe the write up
saying his mom was a pure bred bluetick and  his dad a chihuaha was wrong, but
I'm pretty sure it was right on! He  weighs a little over 30lbs but has super
long legs and that coonhound  tail.  He is a very smart dog and loves to
cuddle and be with the  family.  Thanks again for all you do to help these
dogs!

Dear Cindy, Wanda, and Pooches on The Move,

I wanted to write to let you know how grateful we are to
have Ike here in Philadelphia. He is laying at my feet as I write to you and he
certainly enjoys lazy afternoons as much as I do. While my whole family is
absolutely smitten with our new little man of the house, my father has truly
been overwhelmed with affection for Ike. We lost our last dog to old age (he was
19 and lived a great life) and while nothing will replace Coco in his heart I
like to think Ike is helping him through the difficult letting-go process. This
has been amazing to watch.

Ike is also getting used to Philly
life. We live on a quiet little street but we do have our share of “weird
noises”. Ike barks at these things but he has settled in well. He likes to chase
birds (and fireflies) in our backyard and is doing well going for walks around
our development. He likes to sniff as many things as he can and is friendly when
meeting others who are out for walks. (People love Ike and his big ears!) Back
at the house Ike likes to play with his toys from Tennessee and enjoys chewing
or playing “tug-o-war”with us. Ike is learning sit, stay, and come and is
picking up the concepts quickly. He is one smart pup!

Ike has nuzzled his way into the hearts of my friends, family, and
extended family. He is endearing, well mannered, and let's be  honest....
incredibly adorable! We are so happy to have him here and are so grateful to you
for all that you did for Ike. We are lucky to have him and that could not have
been possible without all of the work POM does. It is truly an amazing feat  to
build families across states and you have truly helped to complete ours.

 Thank you,

Nicole and the Salvatore Family

Hi,
Just wanted to give an update on Betsy bee- we actually changed  her
name to Baileigh bee! This is a pic with her new sister Charleigh!  They are

Lily adopted June 2012

Picture
Cindy,
taken a while to get back to you, but
wanted to wait a bit until Lilly Luv's hair grew back in.  she  looked so
"naked" & nervous when we picked her up the day before
  Easter.

at any rate, she's adapted beautifully.  she's sweet, loving, and adores her daily outings to the
beach for exercise.  our adopted male cat, Jag, is in love with her but
she's oblivious to his attention.  we have another cat we adopted and  the
three pets have the best time on our enclosed porch playing or snoozing.

We never thought we would get  another pooch after our wonderful Nasha was euthanized in February, but  Lilly Luv has
filled a whole in our hearts.

Enclosed are a few photos for you to enjoy.  we sent Lilly Luv's blanket & stress jacket back to  Wanda this
past week along with the same shots.
Thanks so much for the wonderful
work.

Ike Adopted June 2012

Picture
Dear Cindy,
Just wanted to write and let you know we got Ike last  night. He
is still adjusting to his new city but we are delighted to  have him. From the
application, to the foster communication, to the  coordination of pick up, your
procedure is impeccable and it really  allowed us to love Ike even
before we even met him. We are lucky to have Ike and wanted to extend a truly
grateful "thank you" to you and  everyone at POM. As he warms up to us we will
send more photos and hope  you will keep in touch as well! Thank you again!!

Sincerely,

Nicole and the Salvatore Family

Houdi

Picture
Hi Cindy,

We are coming
up on Houdi's second birthday! He has grown into such a wonderful
companion. He is always by our side. Houdi is our resident goofball,  make us
smile, live in the moment, go-to best friend. We are rarely ever away from each
other, and when we are it is only for a few hours.  I  can't thank you
enough for putting the time , effort and funding into  his rescue. We have some
pictures of him with us outside, but I am  partial to the snuggly photos myself.
Two enclosed.

Many
blessings,
Beth

Baileigh Bee-it  was Betsey Bee adopted June 2012

Picture
Melissa,

Everything is going so well.
Better than I ever imagined.  We did  change her name to Baileigh Bee-it
seemed to go well with Charleigh.   She's already responding to her
name.  She has had no accidents at all  and we have not had to crate her
while we go to work.  She is getting  along great with our other dog and
our son.  She slept with us the first night and is now sleeping in her own
bed through the night.  This is  the easiest puppy we have ever had and we
already love her to pieces.   Thank you so much for bringing her to us! We
already cannot imagine life without her:)

and how much we love him! Thanks for everything.  Roy Demahulam

Bella adopted in April 2012

Hi there,
Just wanted to give you an update on our Bella.  If we had
been able to  put in an order for a 'perfect' dog, I don't think we could have
asked  for one as wonderful as our Bella!  Lou has always been a 'big' dog
person and was willing to 'settle' for a smaller one due to our current
circumstances. Bella in less than 2 weeks absolutely has him wrapped  around
her little paw(s)!!!  She is the best dog ever!!!  She listens  well,
walks on the leash just wonderfully (Lou walks her at the state  park near
us a couple of miles a day where she gets to play with other  dogs, explore, put
her feet in the water, search for squirrels and  chipmunks and just have fun-Lou
get his exercise also!!!), totally  house-trained, sleeps through the night with
no whimpering at all, loves to cuddle, loves to fetch, enjoys riding - both in
the crate and  tethered -  and is just overall wonderful!!!  We
couldn't be happier  with her and I kind of think she likes us too!!!
To get
back to the circumstances surrounding having a small dog...we  have a truck
camper and today we take off for a long weekend of camping. Our goal is to
embark on an extended trip come July of 2013.  To say  that it's our goal
for our newest family member to fit into this plan  goes without saying.
All week long we have been getting the camper  ready for it's maiden
voyage this year and Bella has been right in the  thick of things!  She's
already picked out 'her spot' (totally  acceptable to us) and has adapted so
well that, once again, we find her  to be the most amazing creature!
Thanks
again for allowing us the opportunity of letting Bella become  such an important
part of our family!!! We'll stay in touch and will  forward pictures along.

If you see or talk with Wanda, please let her know that I think of her often
will be in touch with her as well.
Fondly,
Nancy

Mica (formly Darcy)

Hi Cindy
and Denise

It
has been 4 weeks since we welcomed Darcy (we renamed her Mica) into our
home.  She is a wonderful addition to our family.
She has exceeded our expectations and we have already fallen in love with
her.  I want to thank both of you for coordinating her
adoption and arranging transportation for her to be with
us.  When my husband and I started the process of
looking for a dog we were a little skeptical about getting a dog sight unseen.
It turned out that we did not have to worry because everything worked out
beautifully and she was truly meant for us and we for her. Thank you for
everything that you do for these wonderful dogs.

Pancake adopted in 2012

Picture
 Hi Denise,
   I can't believe I have
waited so long to thank you for facilitating my adoption of Pancake.  She
arrived safe and sound on the 21st of April and she has been an absolute
delight ever since she crossed the threshold of my home.  She  experienced
absolutely no transition period.  She is so calm and so  loving.  Her
first vet appointment lasted well over an hour because the  entire staff was so
taken with her.  The doctor couldn't say enough  about how well socialized
my pooch is.  I know I have Wanda to thank for nurturing Pancake's sweet
disposition.  I am so enjoying introducing  Pancake to lots and lots of new
people and places in Maine.  (She has  even seen the ocean already and
loves it.)
I feel so privileged to be Pancake's adoptive
mom.  Thanks for making it all possible.
   Keep up the good
work!
Colette

Vajra (Didina) Adopted 2011

Thanks again for bringing her into  our lives.

wondering what he looks like now.

Noah

Picture
Hello Denise & Cindy!!
I hope this email finds you well!! Noah
and I just wanted to drop you a line. We were in Polaski TN earlier this year
to visit Shane's dad. Noah had a blast chasing chickens on the  ranch and
yelling at the horses haha. We can't wait to go back, we were  teasing Noah that
we were bringing him back to his home haha. I hope all of you at pooches on the
move are not forgetting to have fun. Thank you for everything, everyday I think
of you when I see Noah. Xo

Warmly,

Gibbs

Picture
Hello-we have been working hard with Gibbs taking him to weekly training classes
for the past 9 weeks. Here he is with his first  friend,  "Clyde" from his
"Hollywood Tricks" class. They are working with my dog  trainer friend, Carol
..did you know that Gibbs will take a Kleenex out  of my pocket when I "sneeze"?
We adore him . Sincerely Nancy and Mike  Meagher.

Lily AKA (Avery) adopted April 2012

Picture
Hi Brittany! I wasn’t sure who to email and if you could forward this to Lily’s
(Avery’s) foster mom (Debbie) that would be great! I just wanted to let  you know she is
doing fantastic!! I could not be happier, she is so well behaved and adorable!
She’s only had a few accidents so far, during the night she sleeps so good in
her crate and wakes me up at 12, 2 and 8 to go outside and use the bathroom! Not
sure if this was your schedule  with her or if she now has her own schedule but
it amazes me, she is so  smart!! Currently she is napping right next to me, it
has been a long  day. She went to the vets and came out with a clean bill of
health and  then to petco (she is spoiled rotten!!) she picked out another toy
and  was dragging it around the store, how could I say no to her? Haha she is
such a princess. She also got her nails cut today and she was so brave! I am
still so amazed by how well behaved she is and she has no fear!!  She gets along
with every dog she meets and is very interested in cats,  and they are very
interested in her because she is so tiny! Everywhere  we go she gets all the
attention!. I couldn’t have asked for a better  dog and I wanted to thank you so
much for molding her into what she is  today! I am completely in love with her,
she is my baby. Once again I  wanted to say thank you!! And I also wanted to
make sure you knew she is doing good and is very loved. I have attached some
pictures, she is so  cute! Thank you thank you thank you! And hope everything is
well with  everyone who is involved with Pooches on the Move, I have been
telling  many people about it! We are wishing you all a safe, healthy and
successful rest of the year and hoping for many more. We are sending our love
all the way from Cape Cod! Xoxoxoxo, Lily and Samantha

Aero formerly Gaston

Picture
Hi Heather and Melissa,

Thank you for  bringing
Aero (f/k/a Gaston) to us.  He is a lovable little bundle of  joy.  He
has not had any accidents in the house yet (I'm not kidding  myself, I fully
expect to be cleaning up after him at times).  He slept  until 12:45 a.m.,
we went out, he did his business and back into his  crate (in our bedroom) and
slept until 6:30 without a peep.  Actually  our other dog, Beau woke us and
him.

Did you put the dogs
names together?  Beau and Aero...kind of corny, but we like
it.

If you  "Facebook
friend" me, you can see regular video and photo updates of  him.  For now,
I have added a couple of photos of him napping in his bed next to me while I
work in my office.

Thanks again for your
efforts in find homes for these precious orphans.

Mia formally Matilda adopted in 2011

Picture
Hi Tia,

I've been thinking about giving you a little update on Mia and finally
remembered to do so while I was on email......

Mia is doing great!  She continues to make us love her more and
  more.  I can't believe we've had her for 7 months already....I wish I
could send you a pic of where she is right now....nestled between us on  the
couch with her nose in Joe's armpit, sleeping.

She is in great health and gets to hang out with other pooches once a week
for daycare--she has really shown to love being social with  other
dogs.  Otherwise she is my little buddy during the day.  I just
recently started coaching CrossFit full time and she comes to the gym  with me
now.  Every one loves her.  As soon as class is over, I have  grown
men asking me if I can bring Mia out so they can play with her.
She runs laps around the gym and gets everyone to play with her.
Thankfully we had a very mild winter up here so she didn't have to deal  with
much snow and cold.  It's getting very springlike around here and  she's
always ready for some outside time.  She truly is the best little
lady.  We love her so much--she brings sunshine wherever she goes :)

I attached some pictures for you to see.

Hope you are well,

Sarah and Joe

Thacher Formaly Marshall adopted in 2012

Picture
Hi not sure who I am emailing at this point, Denise or Betty and  John but
wanted all to know that Thacher (Marshall) is doing wonderfully and we ADORE
him.  Even though we are only going on the third week we  feel he has been
with us forever.  We think he loves us as much as we  love him.  He is
kind, responsive, smart, stubborn and a cuddle bug.  We did have some
medical issues the first few days (fleas and kennel  cough) but he is all better
now.  Still working hard on the housebroken  thing.  We will walk him
for 45 mins and he will walk right into house  and go on the rug and then give
us the sweetest look!   Our kids have so much fun with him and Thacher
loves running in the yard with them.  He  is teething, teething,
teething.  We got him some good chew toys he  seems to enjoy.  Thacher
has won over the neighborhood and now our  neighbor is looking for a golden or
lab mix puppy to adopt. Know of any??   Thacher is trying very
hard to  be-friend our cat but Briar has other plans (to stay far away).

We have heard from Thacher's brother who lives close by and we are going to
get them together in a week or so.   Hope you enjoy the pictures we
attached.
Best Regards,
Michele, Bobby, Brayden, Ella and Thacher

Izzy

Picture
Hi Cindy and Denise,
I just wanted to contact you with an update on Izzy
and some pictures!
Now, I don't want to sound like I'm bragging or anything
but I honestly  think Izzy is the best dog in the world. Period. She's been
nothing but  super sweet and smart since the day we brought her home. She still
has  yet to figure out what not to chew; amoung her favorites are chair legs,
cat poop, chicken poop, goat poop, and cat toys. But she is learning!  It also
took her a while to figure out that the cats were not there to  play with and
they are much more serious than she. During the first day  she learned to sit on
command and she has only had one accident in the  house. She's a great running
partner, never pulls on a leash, and mostly comes when called. And what a snugly
girl! We never realized how dull  our lives were without Izzy and what a big
space she has taken in our  hearts. Thank you all for working to bring this good
girl into our  lives!
~Sadie and Nathan
P.S. Would you please forward this
to her former foster mom, Judy? She seemed to care quite a bit for Izzy.

Cooper formly Marco   Adopted Sept 2010

Picture
This is Cooper (formerly Marco) adopted by Chris
B. and I in September 2010  (shown with his kitty brother Marley). He has
been the best thing that  ever could have happened to our lives! He is the
sweetest dog ever. Even though he is 70 pounds he thinks he is a little lap dog.
We can never  thank you enough for this amazing addition to our family. Thank
you so  much!

Pippi  Adopted Dec 2011

Picture
Thank you for our girl Pippi. She has been with us since Dec.
2011. It took  her 30 min to feel completely at home and part of the family with
her  sister Puggsle & Penelope. She is an absolute love bug.

 Sierra Nevada   Adopted September 2011

Picture
Thank you so much for bringing us our sweet girl Sierra Nevada (adopted in
September 2011). She has been such a wonderful addition to our family.  She
loves our daughter Mary Jane (18 months) and they play together all  the time.
She is very smart and has done well with her training. We have recently enrolled
her in one half day of doggie daycare per week so  that she can make some
friends and have fun playing with other doys.  While it is still evident that
the beginning of her life has left some  deep scars, we see her progress and
love as positive signs that  eventually those times will be very distant
memories for her. Thank you  again for bringing this angel our way!

All our best,
Melanie and Dave Delude

Chloe adopted 2012

Picture
Oh my.... we can't thank you enough! We picked up Chloe on Saturday
morning and could not be happier. This little one has become bonded to
us and we her!
We think what you do is fantastic....I keep talking to people around here who
have adopted these dogs and all feel the same way...what you do for us and
them is fantastic and we can't thank you all enough! From the wonderful
people who do the phone interviews and adoption forms to the fosters and
transporters! Gerry by the way  (the woman who helped with our pups
transport) was more than lovely and gracious and we couldn't have been more
happy, and Debbie our girls foster mom was so welcoming of our phone calls to
ask questions about our pooch, she made us feel so comfortable with the
process. We will not hesitate to tell everyone we know about the fantastic
job you all do.
Thanks with all our hearts. Tracy & Swede Plaut

Lilly adopted 2011

Picture
Happy Tail provided by T.J.   Thanks!! :  Dear P.O.M,
Recently this summer my family adopted a dog  from P.O.M.  Her name is and
was Lilly.  Well she has become part of our family now, as well as our
every day lives.  She is always so excited  to greet me when I get off of
the school bus.  My mom says "do you want  to go get Piper Lilly?" (my
little sister)  She races to the door and  can't wait to go get her.

When I was sick she curled into a little ball at my feet and slept all
day.  Sometimes I have a bad day at school and lilly can fix that by
licking my face and wagging her tail so much that im not sure whether  she is
wagging her tail or if her tail is wagging her.
She is the dog that
I've always wanted.  She is sweet, loving and the best most loyal friend I
could ever ask for.
Im so glad that there are people like you in the
world that help animals in need, because to me they are so much more than just
animals.  I  would like to donate $15 toward your new sprinter van, and my
family  also wanted to help, so we are going to donate online.  Thank you
again!  T.J. (12 years old) (and Lilly too!)

Millie adopted in 2011

Picture
Hello,
I hope everyone is doing well.  Bernie is doing great
here.   He is learning to play with toys and getting on a schedule. He gets
along very well with Jetta, my dachshund and the kids.  I want to thank
you again for for the opportunity to adopt Bernie. We are very thankful  for
him and to have him as the newest member of our family. I do not  have Kay and
Dan's email to send them pics of Bernie, but I attached 3  pics for you,if you
can would you please forward the pics to them. I  will be calling them this
weekend to update them on how Bernie is doing.

Take care,

Tessi adopted in 2009

Picture
This is Tessie (formerly Cari) that we adopted at 4 months old in
2009. She loves to look out the front door to watch what is going on
outside! She can actually sit that way for a surprisingly long time. She
also knows how adorable she is when she sits that way and will do it to be picked up for some loving. We
are so happy we found her and thanks so much to you all at Pooches on the Move for delivering her to us!

Percy - Adopted November 2011

Picture
_Hi Heather,
I wanted to send you a quick Percy update.  He is doing great!  He has settled into the family and the neighborhood -it's like he's always been here.  He is so in love with the kids, and is just so happy to be
wherever they are.  My daughter set up a little hideout in a corner with a sheet as a tent and a fleece blanket floor, where she likes to play dolls.  He squeezes right in there with her, like it was made for
him.  the picture isn't the best one we have of him, but it gives you an idea of how he is included in everything the kids do - they call him their assistant!
We have a few different routes we walk, and he loves exploring the neighborhood and meeting new people.  He loves looking out the windows at the squirrels and bunnies in our backyard, but he isn't quite sure
what to think of the wild turkeys.
He's been to the vet.  Everyone there is so in love with him :)  He really is such a wonderful dog, and we are so thankful that you were there to rescue him.  In the short time he's been here, he has brought us so much happiness - he really is the sweetest guy, and you can't help but smile when he's around.  I hope all is well with you.
thanks again,
Andrea

Ella AKA Sandie - Adopted November 2011

Picture
_Hi Betty, just wanted to let you know Ella (Sandie) is doing wonderful. I'm in love! She adjusted very quickly and my roommate is obsessed with her! She is VERY spoiled. :) & she is such a princess she even sleeps in my bed with me every night. Ella goes to the dog park down the street from my condo twice a day everyday to play and gets along with every dog she meets, which I love. All she ever wants to do is play or snuggle. Love love love. I attached some recent pictures of her. Thank you so much again, so thankful for her. :)

Lola AKA LaLa - Adopted November 2011

Picture
_Hello All!
I'd like to let you know that Lola is doing great! Given that this is a new experience, she is adjusting very well and is having a blast exploring the streets of Boston. Her big brother Winslow is getting used to her and we took them on a few walks together and they did great. We took our first trip to Bark Place where Lola will be doing her obedience training starting Monday and she  picked out her own toy right out of the bin and discovered the joys of knocking over the piles of dog beds on display. She is already loving her new bed and toys as you can see from the pictures and  we are looking forward to the future with our pups. Thank you all so much for allowing us to adopt Lola into our family. We love her so much already and she is just the cutest thing in the world. I'll send you all updates along the way and any time any of your would like to call and find out how she is doing, please feel free!
Sincerely,
Lauren, Matt, Winslow, and Lola

Nueve - Adopted October 2011

Picture
_Denise, I just wanted to say thank you for your time and for all you do for these pups that need homes. My husband pulled off the biggest surprise ever bringing Nueve home this weekend.  He is such a good boy and very smart :)  Aside from a few loud barks from our older dog they boys seem to be getting along just fine.  I will have to do alot of research on what to do or how to handle two dogs but other than that I think this is going to be perfect. Here is a picture of the boys the first day Nueve came home. They both love to lay in the sun (Nueve also likes to steal all of Cabo's favorite spots to lay in). Andrea

Annie - Adopted November 2011

Picture
_
Denise,
I tried to send a picture and text to Tia to let her know that Annie is doing well. It wouldn't go through.  Could you please pass on the message. Annie is great!  She is so sweet. She still looks around a little ... I'm guessing she is trying to find Tia, but she seems happy. We've had several walks today and she has done her 'business' outside. Good doggie! I am so happy Annie has found her forever home. Thank you for all your help. I am attaching a picture from last night when we picked her up.

Gracie Mae - Adopted October 2011

Picture
_Hi Cindy and Tia,Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how Gracie Mae is doing. We have dropped the Mae off and just call her Gracie. It was a very rough start as we met you in Allentown PA a little after 1:30 in the am. By the time we got back to our house it was 3:15 am. Sorry I didn't get to talk to you Cindy but Gracie was the second dog out of the van and I could see you needed to get your job done so you could move on. There were several people waiting there for pets.  My son took the leash and I opened the back door to the car and Gracie jumped right in, jumped into the bed I brought along so she would know it was hers and flipped on her back so her could pet her belly. He instantly fell in love with her. She only had one accident when we first got home but it was my fault, I didn't think of taking her out when we got home cause I was so tired. I let it go and said nothing just cleaned it up.Saturday we had about 10" of snow, Gracie didn't mind playing in it at all. Hope you had a safe trip home cause I am sure you had to drive through it on your way back. As I mentioned when we talked, I have a 10 yr. old Golden Retriever (Tess) and my daughter has a 19 month old Maltese (Bailey). Neither wanted to play with her when she tried on Saturday. I think this made her sad cause she cried. Yesterday, day 4, Tess started playing with her and I feel it won't be long before Bailey follows suit. I think Bailey didn't want to share the spotlight. However, Baileys and Gracies bladders have become attached and whenever I have to take one out, the other miraculously has to go too. So I have had to get used to walking two dogs at once. At night when my daughter is home she takes Bailey so I am only walking Gracie. I have taken her for rides in the car when I just have to run out for something quick, I am trying to get her used to traveling because we have an RV and I want to take her with us when we go places. She absolutely loves it and I say"Do you want to go for a ride" and she starts crying and jumping around. I put on her leash and take her outside and she runs in front of the car, pees and then goes to the door to get in. Looks like she was taken for rides in her other home or her foster home.  Tia, you did a great job describing her. She is everything I wanted. She loves to sit on laps and be loved and I have to open my curtains in the morning so she can sit on the back of the couch and watch out the window. Sometimes I think she misses her old home (or yours) cause I just don't know what she is saying to me. And yes she is trying to talk to me. It's not barking. I think in a couple weeks she will be totally used to being here and will forget everyone else. I am attaching a couple pictures and will update you after she has been here longer. I have not made a well vet visit appointment yet but I will get that done. Gracie is the first rescue we have done as we have always gotten animals as babies but I have fallen in love with her and if I were ever to get another one, I would do a rescue again. To be honest I was nervous getting her without meeting her but Tia did a great job matching her up with a home that would suite her and setting us up with a dog that would fit our needs. Even though she was supposed to be my dog, she goes to the whole family and takes all the loving she can get and they have all fallen in love with her. Sorry this is so long but I am sure you like to know how the dogs do after you drop them off. You guys to a great thing and I wouldn't have Gracie if it wasn't for the work you do.Thanks,Pat

_Betty,
We actually adopted two dogs on the same day. The other dog's name is Ruffles. Ruffles is three months old.
They get along very well are are great companions (to us and one another). They are both going to have great
lives. So many people want to see them that we may have to schedule appointments !!     Bob

_Heather and Jody,
One more…so much for planning to keep her off the furniture…She’s so cute and gentile, that we decided she can continue to sleep on the furniture (I know she was allowed to at Jody’s for the past year) .  She is so cute at night time.  She gets up on the bed with husband and I, and then does NOT want to get out of bed in the morning…just like me

Luke aka DOZIER

Picture
Hi Amy and Heather,
Our day began with a phone call at 5:55 this morning to tell us to be in Londonderry NH at 7:30 (as expected) to greet the van.  The van pulled in, on the dot, and we waited with about eight other adopting families to receive our pups.  Luke bounded out of the van sniffing up a storm.  He was happy to meet us, was quickly transferred to a new leash, and off he went with Lilly for a walk on the grass.    (Meanwhile, a small dog named Allie was being placed into the back of her new owners’ car, and she escaped!  headed straight across the 4-lane highway into the woods.  A hunt ensued for about an hour, some of us bystanders helping, and eventually the distraught owner, with the help of a police officer, found her soaking wet in a swampy area – they both went in up to their knees to rescue her....the pup was shivering, as was the owner, and the very kindly policeman was thanked by two bites on his thumb -- but thank goodness it was a happy ending – certainly added to the drama of the morning.)    Luke was none too happy to be put into our van and his crate, so he gave us his best “Bassett hound” look and then checked out with a nap all the way home.  He’s so quiet and gentle --  great dog, just as you two described!  After a walk in the park and a thorough investigation of the house, he settled in for another nap in the living room.  Now he has had a snack and is enthusiastically testing new “boundaries” around here.  He does listen well and accepts his new toys in substitution for tissues from the waste basket, shoes by the door, Lilly’s toys, etc.     Thanks for everything.  Luke is a wonderful addition to our family. Mike, Mary and Lilly Dissette

FOXEY AKA BAILEY

Picture
“Foxy” who is now “Bailey”  is doing great!  We love her so much.  She has gotten bigger – longer and taller.  She weighs over 7 pounds now, so she isn’t a peanut anymore.
She is still really cute and has a funny personality. She is very entertaining.  Bailey settled in quickly and she really loves her big dog brother “Chance”.  They get along extremely well.  She copies everything he does and he is really patient with her.  They play all the time.  She likes her cat brother and cat sister as well, but they aren’t as much fun as Chance is.  I am going to try to attach a few pictures of Bailey so that you can see how much she has grown.  She is such a sweet girl. Thank you for being such a big part of Bailey’s adoption.  I really appreciate all you did for me and all you do for “Pooches on the Move”.

TUXEDO IN MAINE

Picture
Hi!

I've been thinking of emailing you! I'm glad you got in touch. He seems to be adjusting really well - certainly I'm sure we'll see more of him in the coming weeks but he is already comfortable in the house, great on walks/ car rides, and super loveable. He spends a little time in a comfy crate for a few hours a day when neither my boyfriend or I are home, but loves it and jumps in on his own. The rest of the time he lounges on my bed, or on the couch and wanders the house when we're around to keep an eye out. What a precious angel! He also has a real playful side and has already made a few more dog/ human friends... I think the climate is a bit of an adjustment - he wasn't a fan of the recent rain and I think its a little cold, but he'll get used to it.

I've attached a picture of him playing in the park across the street!

Thank you so much for bringing him into our lives. It really is a great thing you do! We're already in love.

Hope you're well,
Guthrie

DEXTER

Picture
Dexter is the best dog EVER. We go to the dog park 2-3 times a week.. There are usually 10-20 other dogs of varied breeds there so he gets to meet lot's of different dogs- I gotta tell ya every time a bulldog come in, he spends the whole time playing with & harassing him!!!! He misses his cousins!!! He is always the center of everyone's conversations, I always sneak around and eavesdrop with telling them he's mine- I guess that's creepy but I don't care, I am only there to have him play haha...

He knows "Come" like it is his JOB. He did it will when learning with hotdogs, but he got tired of those so now I use grilled chicken or peanut butter is his new favorite!!! He is so spoiled, but he deserves it; the prince!

He is growing growing growing!!!! He is so muscular now, and so handsome!  Danny

HARLEY AKA GUPPY

Thank you, Denise. Here's a recent picture of Harley (formerly "Guppy").  Thank you again for the love of my life.  :) Colleen

ALVIN

Picture
Hi Gerri,  We hope you are doing well and wanted to give you a brief update on Alvin.  We are very happy to report that Alvin is doing very well and is learning new things all the time.  We have him enrolled in puppy kindergarten right now to learn some basics and he has been doing very well.  He is very playful and energetic and has a wonderful personality.  He is very friendly and has become a favorite in our neighborhood.  He is a wonderful little boy and we love him very much.  We are so thankful for you and everyone at Pooches on the Move for allowing him to become a part of our family.  Thank you!  Matt & Shaleigh

TIMBER NOW 1 YEAR OLD!

Picture
Hello Heather, How are you? I hope that this email finds you doing well and still finding homes for the puppies who need them and the people who want them. Rachael and I wanted to update you on the status of Timber. He has been with us for almost a year now and our lives are forever changed. We were sad to lose out out on Storm but quickly fell in with love with Timber's picture and I think he quickly fell in love with us when we met. Timber loved the snow when he came with us to Albany. He preferred walking in snow banks instead of the paved sidewalks and enjoys going cross country skiing with me and swimming in the summer. He is a very healthy 40 pounds now and although bigger than we thought he would be, he is the perfect size dog we wanted. He is super energetic and has kept us very active with multiple walks a day and plenty of hiking trips in the summer. He is always the most energetic dog at the dog parks and has made lots of doggy friends in our neighborhood. We wanted to thank you for your help in pairing us with Timber.  He is a part of our family and we can't imagine our lives without him. I've attached some pictures of him so you can see how he's doing. Do you have any idea how his siblings are doing or their contact info? Email would be fine. I'd love to try to reunite them some day and see how they turned out.

Simba

Picture
Hi Cindy,

Thx for emailing. I almost called you but thought you might be recovering from the trip. :-)
Simba is doing great!
He’s curious about everything, playing with the toys, loving walks, snuggling, full of kisses and is eating well.
He and sister Mia are getting along quite well and are gradually learning each others’ styles of play. For example, Simba tends to bark a bit when playing, and that seems to startle Mia a bit and she turns away. He then tries “harder” which ends the interaction.  They are sharing toys well, have played a bit of tug of war with toys and have had several great walks together. Simba’s also learning which of our 2 cats is the most easy going and which one will hiss if he approaches too quickly.
He’s also doing great with his elderly sister Chloe (our 15 year old beagle) who is deaf and arthritic and mostly just sleeps.  He sniffs her once in awhile and is very clam around her. So sweet.
He also met one of our “grand-dogs” yesterday (another TN rescue) and they got along well.
He’s had a few potty accidents but that is to be expected as he gets used to the new routines.  He has also clearly let us know when he has to go out on a couple of occasions!
He’s a real love... I can definitely see how you got so attached to him in the time you had him.
We’re so glad to have found him on the website and to have him here.  Thanks so much for saving him and loving him well.
I’ll try to get some good pics and send them along soon.

Best,
Carol

Bianca

Picture
Hello!   It has been a long time since I last wrote, but I hope you remember me, and of course, Bianca.  If you recall, Bianca was supposed to be a Chihuahua/Yorkie mix.  Well, someone forgot to include one little ingredient in her make up - the Beagle.  Oh, my goodness, Miss Bianca is now 13 pounds worth of silliness.  She stands about 14 inches tall and is 16 inches long, and she is absolutely gorgeous!  Her coat is thick and silky smooth, black as coal with a snow white chest and brown outlines.  I have to download some new pictures of her and send them to you.  You won't believe what a stunning dog she is becoming.   I have to honestly say that we did not really enjoy Bianca's puppyhood as much as we would have liked.  She went through a stage where she had to mouth everything, which led to eating things she shouldn't have - like buttons off of clothes, a rosary, Don's eyeglasses.  Fortunately, she didn't suffer any major problems from it, everything passed on its own.  She didn't chew furniture or walls, etc., so we considered ourselves very lucky.    All of that craziness has subsided and/or stopped over the past few months and she's becoming quite the lovebug.  Bianca likes to be held and cuddled when I get home.  She'll put her head on my shoulder and wrap her paws around my neck for a hug.  She stays that way for 5 minutes or so, then she's off to play with Bambi.    We love Bianca soooo much.  Even when she was 'challenging' - 80% of the time was great, but that other 20%, when the evil puppy came out, was not so good - we loved her.  She was just being Bianca and we had to learn how to adjust to it - - she trained us well.  We are so grateful for you helping us to adopt her.  She brings a lot of joy and laughter to us with her silly antics.  (Some people might say she's a little spoiled.  I have no idea where they would get that idea.)   I'm sorry it has been so long since I've written.  I think about it a lot, but then things come up and I don't get to do it.  I hope things are good on your end.  Take care and keep up the good work.   Deb

Larry AKA Theodore

Picture
Hi Denise! It's Ninielle Bushmich, I adopted Larry, formerly known as Thedore back in July! Just wanted to give you an update on Larry, he is doing great! He has been the perfect addition to our family! He is adjusting very well to life here, it was love at first sight with lots of hugs and kisses right from the start. He is such a well behaved pup, eats well, sleeps well, and wants to be best friends with every one and every other pup! I couldn't imagine having a better puppy. He is learning something new every day, very smart boy. His favorite thing is to dig!! He could dig to China if he wanted to, even though our back yard has taken a toll in it's landscaping, it is well worth watching Larry have a blast outside :). He is best buddies with his brothers Leo and Abner who he lives with. Leo and Abner have grown to love him so much, and will even follow him around the back yard to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble. They love to nap together too. Abner, the bigger dog, lets Larry wrestle around with him, and of course, Abner always lets Larry win! My mother's dogs Peanut and Dudley, both Chihuahuas, love to play chase with him and splash around in the puppy pool. I remember his foster mother with Pooches On The Move told me he liked to play in the pool there, and boy was she right. He's already traveled to New Hampshire at our summer house and explores the nature there. As you can see from the pictures he is growing into be such a handsome man! My whole family again would like to thank Pooches On The Move for helping us find such a cute little guy who fits in perfectly. We couldn't imagine our lives with out him now! Denise you made the entire experience very easy and exciting, so thank you again, and Larry says hello :) Hope you like the pictures I sent! There are about a million more but I picked out some of my favorites!
Sincerely,Ninielle and Larry's Family!

Jada

Picture
Hi Heather - I took some new pictures of Jada today.  She is a happy, healthy puppy - about 10-1/2 months old now and about 50 pounds.  She loves to run and play with the kids, and is a great family dog, as we thought she would be.  Walking on a leash is still a work-in-progress as she pulls like crazy.  She has been through a few rounds of puppy classes and is now working on a 'noses' class where they search for treats in shoe boxes.  It's fun for her and socializes her with other dogs.  She is still working out the finer points of interacting with our two cats.  I thought you'd like to see how big she is getting.

Lilly

Picture
Hello there Cindy and Hiya,

We are enjoying Lilly very much. She is up to date with her shots and ready for the world--we've been walking her down our street--she's met our neighbor's two ponies whom were very interested
in meeting Lilly. She was intrigued by them as well and decided to copy them and eat some grass to fit in. She's also taken a few swims in the pond across the street, tho she's also not sure she likes swimming yet. But she does enjoy sitting on the bank and watching the kids in their rowboat, digging in the sandbox, chewing most anything she can find (especially moss, napkins and dead frogs--yuk!), and going for walks.

She is trained to ring a bell hanging from the door to go out and is signed up for an obedience class which starts in about 2 weeks. Her coat is starting to darken down the center of her back--guessing she will wind up the color of her ears.

I did some photos of her on a black background and you will see how much she has grown.

Again, Thanks so much! We'll send more as she grows. Yikes! I just heard the speaker on the phone and we realized she'd gotten it! I think she's trying to call someone--what a smart dog.

Best,

Sandy

Rodney and Randy

Picture

Hello! It's been a little while and I wanted to update you on how the puppies have been doing.  We decided to rename them so Rodney is now Maxwell (Max) and Randy is now Dexter.  They've been doing great and are loving life in their new home.  They've met all sorts of new people and new dogs and everyone absolutely loves them as soon as they meet.  They've spent a little time at the shore and a little time at the lake and have been loving every minute of it.  They mastered the steps a few weeks ago so they've been able to explore the whole house on their own terms.  Pretty soon they'll have their own doggy door so they can go in and out as they please.  We're still working on housebreaking.  They have good days and not-so-good days, but overall we feel like they're doing really well and pretty soon will always remember where they're supposed to go potty. We couldn't be happier with the new members of our family!! Do you know what Cindy's (the woman who was fostering the pups before they were shipped) email address?  Is she with Pooches on the Move?  I want to update her on how the puppies are doing. -Jim

Cindy,
I just can't resist sending you 2 more  (totally un-posed) from our afternoon walk in the park across the street from our house.  They are so cute together...people stop to admire them.
I promise I won't keep sending you pics (if everyone did that your inbox would be overloaded). But I know you’re wonder how he is doing...

Carol :-)

Lexi5

Picture
Hi Cindy, Denise and everyone at Pooches on the Move!

We just wanted to send you a quick update and a big thank you for bringing Cee Cee (now Lexi) to us!  She is a terrific pup and a great addition to our family.  She’s happy, healthy and thriving.  Our kids can’t get enough of her and I’m pretty sure she feels the same!  She just went on her first camping trip which is great since she loves the outdoors!  Thanks again for everything you do!

Suka AKA Sawyer

Picture

Good morning!

I just wanted to thank you both again for all you help in bringing Suka (who now goes by "Sawyer") to his new home! Jim and I are so totally in love and try very hard not to spoil him or derail his training with over snuggling or praise....ok, we don't try THAT hard. He is such a happy puppy and has already made fast friends with his Auntie Sarah, Grandma and Grandpa Burton AND Grandma and Grandpa Furbush. Grandpa Burton often stops by because he was "in the area calling on a client." Of course, he never did that BEFORE!

Jim and I are morning people and Sawyer fits right in! He loves to play, play, play first thing and then crashes out for his mid-morning nap. He is presently curled up on top of my feet while I type. Thanks again for helping to connect him with his happy new home. We are so glad to have him with us and will always be grateful to you all!

Warm regards,

Amy, Jim and Sawyer

Gus AKA Max

Picture
Hi Denise,   Thought you and Cindy would enjoy these pictures of Gus' (Max) 1st birthday on June 10.  He is a wonderful dog and has adjusted really well to city life.  He is friends with a number of dogs in our building and around the neighborhood and loves the dog run in the park (photo attached).  He has really brightened our life!   Hope all is well and that you are enjoying the summer.   Best, The Keanes

Rudy AKA Maddie

Hi, Sheila --

We've had Ruby -- now Maddie (short for Madigan, Irish for "little dog")-- for almost a month and I just wanted to let you know how she's doing:  fabulous!  She's adjusted beautifully to our family.  Her first weekend with us we brought her to two soccer games.  She was friendly to everyone and settled nicely.  It was there that we first heard her bark.  There was another dog at the field and she desperately wanted to meet it!  Over the next two weeks we continued to put her to every situation we could think of:  friends, kids, dogs, the dog park, the car, neighborhood walks, the groomer.  She was terrific through it all!  She absolutely loved the dog park -- especially the mud puddle (hence, the groomer)!

Maddie is also well-behaved inside.  She doesn't jump up on the counters or table, and at dinner she'll lay down next to us.  She doesn't jump (much) on people either.  We can put food on the coffee table and she will leave it alone.  She takes treats with the most gentle of mouths.  Since our last dog was food aggressive, this is heaven.  If she does take something she shouldn't, all it takes is a "no" and she drops it immediately.  We're working on commands besides sit, but after a few minutes Maddie just flops on her back.  Hopefully she'll get it eventually!

Maddie has come out of her shell, gained some confidence, and is showing a lot of personality.  She has many woofs, snuffles, huffs, and barks and doesn't hesitate to express her opinion.  She follows around whoever happens to be moving and so far hasn't shown much partiality to any one member of our family.  Whoever is willing to rub her belly is great!  She is determined to chase every chipmunk, squirrel, and bird she sees.  She loves to run through the yard at full speed, making loops around and through the flower beds. We hope to have her trained on the invisible fence soon but the weather here hasn't been cooperating.  We've had a lot of rain and thunderstorms.

Candy AKA Gracie

Picture
Hi Denise and Sheila,

I meant to e-mail you awhile ago to thank you for taking care of Candy (now lovingly known as Gracie) and bringing her into our lives. She is a little ball of energy and hard to handle sometimes, but we do our best to keep up with her :) I thought I'd share a few pictures.

Sammy

Picture
Hello there,   Hope everyone is doing well!   Thought this was a good shot of the "babies".  Sammy looks like he has a rose in his mouth but it's just a leaf.  He's a chewer and taster of EVERYTHING!    They are quite the pair and very happy little dogs, we are so blessed.   Have a wonderful day and thanks always,

Houdi

Picture
teehee. He is spoiled. We all snuggle with Him and love on him. He cuddles that way with all of us. He is so funny and playful. We go on hour long walks together and explore the town. People stop their cars or turn around from what they are doing to tell him hello and ask about him. He knows certain words and phrase and it is so funny to see his intenseness playing when we are about to throw something. He is so serious about his squeek toys! He is just a light and joy. I have a million pictures of him on my cell phone. lol I also have a video of him pulling this empty HUMONGOUS cardboard box around - at least 5x his size:) I'll end my "mama's doting" on the little guy by attaching a picture of him *smiling* while he sleeps on my lap. Yep - he smiles in his sleep. He also sometimes barks in his sleep protecting our household from the imaginary threats. lol
Happy Memorial Day, and , thank you again Cindy

Angel Face...

Dear Jeff,
I want to thank you for Angel Face. She has brought so much joy to my life she is the most loving dog.  I wanted to ask you if you have a white beard, I bring her to work with me everyday and when customers come in she runs up to them and licks and sniffs them, but one day one of my customers husbands came in to pick up something and Angel Face was sleeping in her bed and jumped up and let out such a cry and kept jumping up the customer picked her up and held her for a while because the way she reacted and now he comes in just to see her she loves him.  If you go to www.beadsprov.com you will see a picture of Angel Face and myself standing in front of the shop, and she loves the snow, I hate it but she loves it I walk her twice a day she's keeping me fit we go on long walks and my daughter lives with me and she takes her to the dog park for small dogs and she just loves it. So once again thank you so much!   ps. She sleeps with my daughter every night she says you want to go to night night and she jumps in her bed and sleeps there all night she just such a love.
sincerely, Donna Andreozzi/Family

Sammy - 2011

Picture
Hi Cindy and Denise,   I hope you are having a great week!   Sammy is doing SO well!  My son, daddy jesse, is doing a great job training him.  He knows his name and to come when called.   He is now learning to "sit".   Potty training is going better every day.  When I get home, I go get "my dogs" and put them on my bed while I change out of my work clothes.  Yesterday Sammy did not want to get on the bed, instead ran through the house with me in heels and Sachi right behind trying to catch him.  He stopped long enough at the water bowl to get a drink then went to the door!  There was no arguing with that so out we went and he  promptly went and took care of business.  It may have been a coincidence but I think different!  He and Sachi are becoming closer every day.  He looks up to her as his big sister and she loves her little brother.  I wish you could see how they play- it's a joy to watch and such good exercise for Sachi.  He is a really affectionate little guy and is starting to notice what pleases us and appears to be taking notes.  He also is becoming a talker--not sure what he's trying to say at times but I think it's all good.   I think about you often and pray God's blessing on you.   Thanks again,   Julie aka "the momma"

Ginger

Picture
Hi Candy. Hope all is well. Please let Wanda know that Ginger, who is now known as (sweet) Georgia Brown is doing really well.    I LOVE her, and she and Ringo my doberman get along like old friends.  He is still very much a puppy and Georgia takes his nonsense for just so long before he gets whipped into shape. Best Wishes, Hayley

Sophie - 2011

Picture
HI Ladies,I just wanted to report that Ms. Sophie has arrived well and I have to say has really put her best paws forward.  She has been a sweetheart all day--I find her to be a very loving and well socialized dog for a rescue animal.  She has done her best all day to fit in, and seems very happy and affectionate--greeting everyone with a big hello and wagging her tail, both at home and during our walks.  She snuggled up to me right away in the car--very trusting, as if she knew we had good things in store for her. We went for LOTS of walks today.  I figured she needed exercise after being cooped up the last 24 hours, and I also thought it was probably a good idea to for all the dogs to get their yayas out all together outdoors.  As a result, they are all completely conked out this evening!  Not a bad thing.  At first she would flinch a little and lie flat on the ground when I went to put her leash on, but by the end of the day she was fine.  Honestly, this is such a good neighborhood for dogs--she had a blast playing with my sister's puppy this afternoon at the nature reserve where we all walk our dogs--that was the first time I heard her bark, and she didn't stop for quite awhile, she was so excited and they were running running running.  They were all treated to marrow bones today.  Sophie promptly buried 2 (hers and another one), in the back yard.  They all took turns gnawing on the third one.  Lucy and Georgia look a little perplexed: "Who is this??" but have been pretty easy going with her all day. I am wondering if Sophie has a hearing issue, as she does not seem to hear very well from a distance.  Either that or she isn't used to her name, or hearing it called.  She does seem older than 2-3 to me--I think the vet who said she was 5 might be right.  I have made an appt with the vet for Tuesday, just to check her over, so we'll get a third opinion on her age.  I suspect that they are going to want to do some work on her teeth--they look like they may be causing her some pain, in fact. Anyway--so far, so good.  I'll be in touch with an update and some pictures after the vet appt on Tuesday. Thanks again so much for the good care you all took of her! More soon and all best!Dominique

Snuggs Adopted Spring 2011

Picture
Hi Robyn and Heather, Tets, Snuggs, and I wanted to write a huge THANK YOU  for bringing us together. It only took minutes for us to become long-last friends. Snuggs was understandably scared when taken out of the van, but she quickly warmed to us and has shown nothing but love and affection ever since. She's still getting to know the neighborhood and hasn't quite warmed to the other dogs at the dog park (very shy and nervous around the more aggressive ones), but that hasn't slowed her down one step. We're headed out on a nice run around the city park in just a bit.
Thank you again. We look forward to sending updates as Snuggs settles into her new home. All the best, becky

Hansel AKA Humphrey Bogart 2011

Picture
Hi Heather,

Hope all is well- "Hansel" is doing well and super psyched on us (which makes us so happy!) please thank Pam for fostering such a great boy! And we will be in touch.
I will keep you posted on him and just wanted to let you that know we've been keeping him busy and tuckering the little guy out (as you can see in the pic :))

This is just a preview of what's to come!
:)

Best,
Anjuli

Knox Update

Picture
Cindy, Shiellah,
I wanted to drop you a line and let you know Knox (Dylan) and Klay (Dallas) are doing just fine--we've chewed through several dozen collars, rugs and dogbeds but our teenagers seem to be calming down.  They know how to sit and lie down and walk on leash, and sometimes it almost seems like they listen to us.
And they've adjusted well to their first snowfall; at first they were a little unsure what to make of it but now we can't keep 'em from playing and wrassling in the 16 inches we got last weekend.

Hope your holidays are joyous.  Keep up the good work you all do, and happy new year!

Nikki

Picture
Good Morning!

Nikki has been very good around my son and is careful when walking around him, he hasn't been bumped or knocked over at all. She's also figured out that he's a good source of crumbs since he's a toddler, so I think that helped! haha

My son doesn't climb on dogs or yank ears or tails, so I think that has helped her feel more comfortable too. He has given her treats and she accepted them from his hand very gently.

Nikki is an excellent dog for a family with small children and we can't believe how well she is trained. She even responds to hand signals! She had a blast in the snow this morning and ran around, leaping up on the snow where we haven't plowed. It's 3' high in some places, but packed enough for her to run on top! It's sad how she was in the shelter for so long, people really missed out on a friendly dog that listens so well.

She has a big bark, it surprised me. I'm glad she barks when she sees someone on our property and welcome it. My son and I are alone a lot and it's good to know Nikki is keeping an eye on things!

Nikki's description on the Petfinder site really got my interest and helped me make the decision to submit the adoption form. Jennifer really did a good job in describing Nikki when we talked. I wish we could have gotten her sister as well, but I'm glad she was adopted earlier. It makes me sad to see siblings/buddies split up!

We plan on adopting again when Ben gets a bit older. Maybe at that time there will be a pair out there needing a home :)

Take care!
Gwen

Tibs AKA Tori

Picture
Hi Denise,

Most importantly, I wanted to tell you how much we love the newest member of our family - previously Tori, now Tibs.  She is an excellent dog and is great with the kids.  And for a TN dog she is adapting nicely to the cold.  She loooooves playing in the snow.

Thank you
Catherine

Sunny

Picture
Good afternoon Heather,

Everything is going extremly well. Sunny is fitting in wonderfully with the kids and our minature yorkshire terrier. He is a littlem nervous but loves to play in the snow. I attached a photo for you and if you could can you forward it to sunny's foster mom.
We appriciate everything you did to help us get Sunny here and the folks that drove him and the others up were so polite and professional..

Again, thank you.  Mike, Carly, Anthony, Sofia

Penney

Picture
Hi Cindy and the Pooches on the Move crew,

I just e-mailed you all via the "Contact Us" button on your website, but after clicking around, realized you also have an e-mail address listed on your page.

For your viewing pleasure, I've attached to this e-mail before and after pictures of our love, Penny. She's been so great. We just love her to pieces. :)

Again, thank you for all you do - your group is truly amazing.

All the best,
Katie Hinchey & Josh Chaput

Missus

Picture
Hi,
Misses is a great girl. She is getting along great with Brandon, Malorey, and me. She loves to play outside. I attached a pic from last night of her relaxing. I registered her yesterday in my City and made her 1st Vet appointment for a physical on 1-18-2011. I just have a couple questions, Did she get a 1 or 3 year rabies shot?
Thank you all for helping me find our new family member.

Maple AKA Buffy

Picture
Hi to all,

I'm not sure if you remember Maple or not, but she's our Angel!!! Heaven sent her to us.......thanks sooooooooooo much for rescuing her and allowing her to bless our lives!!! We picked her up in Windham NH on June 15th 2009 and she was 6 months old at the time......her name used to be Buffy. We took these pictures of her last summer or so.

We loved your YouTube video and it's okay that Maple didn't make it on the picture list.......it was just sooooooooo great to see so many happy families with their new dogs......it brought tears to my eyes. Soooooooo many lives changed in a real big way.........all because of people like you!!!! We can't put into words just how wonderful it is to have Maple in our lives and how grateful we are for all that you continue to do!!!

Thanks for all you continue to do for all of us and all the dogs you take care of and find homes for!!!!

Enjoy our pictures of Maple..............

Fondly, Pat in NH :-)

Kennedy AKA Buster Brown

Picture
Cindy, Denise and Melissa,

Tamar and I wanted to share some family photos that we have from the past few months showing how Kennedy (formerly "Buster Brown") has grown.  We adopted him from your organization back in April (he was one in a litter of 8 yellow lab/beagle mixes).  The first shows Kennedy at a costume contest that raised money for a local dog park - he won prizes for "Most Original" and "Best Trick".  The second photo was actually taken at his vet's office, for another fundraiser, this time for service dogs.  I hope it shows through the pictures just how much loved and a part of the family he is.  In fact, we are planning a birthday party for his upcoming birthday on January 27th!

Again, many thanks for helping to bring Kennedy into our lives.

Yogi AKA Houdi

Picture
Hi!

We got an adorable puggle Yogi (now Houdi) that we thought we would have to give back due to my back problems. The play pen worked well to get us past those weeks and we don't even need it at all anymore! He is a mischievous, but well mannered member of our family. Hmm... What can I tell you? We can't imagine life without him! He goes everywhere with us, keeps us all laughing, is never alone, and- can't nap on the carpet because he is convinced he must have a lap for napping. lol. He is always being played with or loved on by someone. He has visited the nursing home with me and was a big hit.

He is doing well on his housetraining, sits, stays and walks beautifully on a leash. Enclosed is a photo of him with one of his favorite toys. Also enclosed: a cuddle with one of my sons.

Thank you again for bringing us such a wonderful member of our family!
Beth

Bandit

Picture
Pam & Heather,

I just wanted to give you both a quick update about Bandit. He is such a love bug! He loves to snuggle and give kisses and show affection :) He's excellent indoors and has wonderful doggy manners too! He is enjoying having his doggy bed by the slider door and frequently watches everything going on outside. He hasn't barked at all and is nothing but lovey and mellow :) I have had visitors over and he shows them affection as soon as they walk in but doesn't demand everyone's attention - he is content hanging back and just watching what's going on. All in all, he is wonderful and I am so happy to have him as a part of my family! I have attached a few pictures for you to see how he's doing. Thank you both for everything, I am so very thankful for all of your efforts to make this possible for us!

Buddy

Picture
HI there!

Buddy is awesome!!!

I honestly think it couldn't have gone any better than it has so far. He came in the house, explored a little, jumped up on our bed (which we promptly told him to get off), he jumped up to the counter once which again he never did again after being told "off"...ate...has been just a peach.

Was great with food with the kids and the dinner table; little kids (4 year old) walked right by him with their plates and he just looked, didn't even get up! Is (obviously) exhausted I think. He's been sound to sleep right here on the living room floor (see attached picture) actually snoring, farting and dreaming just like Mack used to LOL!

His paws seem fine; I got some BagBalm for him but he doesn't seem to need it right now. He is skinny for his height but we'll fatten him up with some extra egg or yogurt in his food...

We cannot thank you enough for all your help with this adoption. It's such a chance to adopt a dog you have never seen before and we feel so grateful; it seems like he was meant to be with our family. If you walked into our house right now you'd never know he's only lived here 3+ hours LOL!!!

I have some better pics on my camera but can't find the usb cable so the attached pics are from my phone so please excuse the quality and will send you more of him when I find the stupid cable...

Thanks again and we'll be in touch! :)

Bianca

Picture
Hello everyone!   It has been a month since Bianca came home with us, and what a month it has been!  That little girl is a ball of pure energy!  She keeps us running!  She has grown - oh my, has she grown!  She is now 5 pounds and is solid as a brick.    Bianca went to the doctor's on Weds. for her next shots.  The doctor says she's developing perfectly and is healthy.  Her little hernias are healing well on their own.  Everybody at the doctor's office loves Bianca.  They all have to hold her and love on her.  Of course, she 'hates' that.  :-)   Bianca and Bambi love each other so much.  When one is out of the room, the other is looking for her.  They play together all day, and they play hard.  When they wear down, they curl up together and go to sleep.  It's adorable.

We are soooo happy with Bianca - energy and all.  We love that little girl sooo much!  Here are a couple of pictures from the first weekend she was here.  Joey loves her.  I have to get the more recent pictures off the camera so I can send them to you.   We all want to wish each of you a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and Happy, Healthy New Year.   Debbie, Don, Bianca and Bambi

Margo AKA Tiffany

Picture
Hello ladies,     We would just like to wish Lila from Dogs in Harmony and everyone from Pooches on the Move a very happy holiday.  Margo (Tiffany) is doing great and we all just love her to pieces!  She is housetrained and knows the sit, gimme your paw, and lay down commands!  Our puppy is a genius!!  hehe We are so thankful to have her in our lives and thank you so much for being such kind and generous people.  These dogs deserve good lives and are lucky to have people like you to help them.  God Bless and Merry Christmas.

Shorty

Picture
Hi Cindy, Brittany, Cory, and all the good folks at Pooches on the Move,

Here at our house this Thanksgiving, we are particularly thankful to Pooches on the Move for rescuing Shorty, so that we were able to adopt him.  Just wanted to let you know he's doing great, and is getting along well with our two other dachshunds.  He just a great dog, intelligent and loving, and we adore him.  In fact, everyone adores him everywhere we go!  He loves going on long walks in the woods with us.  Here are some recent pix.  Thanks again for the great work you do, and we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Pooches on the Move,
I just wanted to let you know how our little Jack Russell Terrier is doing.  She was named "Demi" however, we call her "Lola".  Sheila Hammond was her foster mother.  She is adorable and we love her.
I'm sending some pictures of her for you to see.  The picture of her in her little bed was when she was three and one half months old.  The other pictures are from this past summer, she was almost seven months old.  She liked to play in her swimming pool.  She will be one year old, around Dec. 8th.
She came from a litter of eight.  I would love to see pictures of her brothers and sisters if you have any of them.
Thank you,
Dorothy

Phantom - Adopted July 2010

Picture
Hello Mom & Heather!  Merry Xmas!   Here are a few photos of me.  As usual, I'm in a relaxing mode on my nice warm beds!  Yup, I have 2 beds- one in the living room and one in the master bedroom....I'm not spoiled (ha ha ha).....not much!   I don't like the Santa hat though-but Deb thought it would be a nice photo of me so I kept it on long enough for her to snap the picture.  Then off it came....I hate hats! I like that about as much as her trying to brush my teeth!  NOT!!!!   ITS' COLD HERE IN CT...DEB BOUGHT ME A FOGGY MOUNTAIN FLEECE COAT.  The temp here has been getting down to 5-9 degreess above 0 at night and my bones feel it.  Even though I have a heavy coat and I have gained about 5-10 lbs....its cold!  I wear my coat in cold and rainy weather so I can be walked and let outside.  I like the coat...it keeps me warm but the hat is a no...hate the hat.  Hope you like the picture though.  No snow yet...everyone is waiting for the snow...including me!  Then we take pictures.   I made "friends" with a doggy down the street...his name is Reggie and he's a psycho wired cocker spaniel....he's way to hyper for me....I can only take Reggie in moderation....like once every 2 weeks I visit with him.  He jumps and barks and gets really excited when he sees me....I tend to shy away from him...too crazy for me...he's not agressive just psycho!   I also made friends with a Bull Mastiff puppy who is my size and is only 15 weeks old and slobbers like a fiend...we get along well...I don't mind the slobber-we play alot when I see him. I have to be driven to Deb's friends house to see him though-his name is Byron.   I've been to a groomer twice since I've been here.  She is a nice lady who comes to the house and grooms me in her van.  She cut my skirt off...it was a little beyond saving but Deb is going to let it grow back.  I had problems with my anal glands.  The groomers here take care of the glands, in addition to the nails and the bathing, and the fur between the pads and toes. When my fur gets too long between my pads, I have no traction on the hardwood floors and slide all over or fall on the floor...no fun when you try to run...or sit on the floor and try to give a paw for treats! (Yes, I learned that one...when I feel like doing it).   All in all, I'm doing ok and am as fit as a fiddle.  I'm on a diet....too much turkey broth from thanksgiving....Deb has nicknamed "wide glide" cause I'm getting a little broad in the rump and we don't have many warm days or nights....but I still get 2 walks a day in, after she gets home from work...and Ed walks me when he is home and brings me for rides.  Our Xmas tree is up ( a real one) and I haven't christened it yet...the living room is off limits to me when no one is home..because of the tree.  I went with Ed and John to get the tree and I made my mark on some of the other trees there....I goofed up I guess.   Well, Mom and Heather, I guess that is all for now.  To let you know I'm doing OK and wishing you a Merry Xmas...Tell Dad I said hello.
Love you   PHANTOM

Molly

Picture
Dear Denise & Wanda,

Thank you so much for placing Molly with us.  The moment we met her we knew she was the one. She has made herself right at home and is just relaxed as you can see from her picture.  While there was a slight mixup of the drop off point, we want to thanks the couple that drove from TN to New Hampshire and back to Rhode Island to meet with us. Molly Malone, as we call her, has added so much love and joy to our family and has helped us and our Softcoated Wheaten Terrier, Kelly Jean to move on from the loss of our other Wheaten Jiggs.  She has found her forever home and we are all glad this is it.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dana & Peg

Toby

Picture
Hi Denise!
Toby is doing great! He has been with us in his new home for over 10 months now, and he adjusted quickly. He is very friendly and loves both people and dogs. He has learned a lot of new tricks such as sit, stay, lie down, high-five, roll over, army crawl, and balancing a treat on his nose (his favorite!). Toby is very tall now and over 75lbs. He is a great big teddy bear who thinks he is the perfect size to be a lap dog. We absolutely love having Toby with us and can't wait to watch him grow even more! Thank you so much for our new addition to the family!

Candy

Picture

Hi Vickie!

I'm just sending a few shots of Candy in her new home with her new
family.
We love her!
Thanks again ever so much.

Gus aka Max

Picture
Hi Denise and Cindy,
Thought you'd enjoy the attached photos of Gus (Max) at the Blessing of the Animals this past Sunday at our church.  Look carefully at the one of the choir - that's Olivia in the center holding him.  He only barked along a little bit!  He's an amazing dog.
Best, The Keanes

Blue Jay

Picture
Hi Beth and Melissa

Just wanted to let the both of you know Blue is doing well; think that he is still a little confused from all of the changes that he has just gone through but he seems to be feeling pretty comfortable and affectionate (though he is whimpering a little as I type this:)  He has informed me that he is most definitely a lap dog and prefers the couch to his bed.  This I am o.k. with because he is just so cute.  He had some food and water when we got home yesterday and then some more in the evening.  We checked out the yard together and went for a walk last night and again this morning.  He has been right at my heels; these pictures were hard to get because he has been so very close.  The pics are from a shallow river in the back yard and the hay fields we get to walk in every morning and night.  We have started to work on "sit" and "heel".

He is wonderful!I am so very lucky and I will make sure that he is too!

Thank you both!  Beth if you have Brenda's e-mail could you please forward the pics to her as well and let her know that he is very much loved!

Thanks again!
Heather

Callie aka Latte

Picture
Hi Heather,   I wanted to follow up with you about Callie (formerly known as Latte).  I've attached a few pics for you to view.  Callie has completely captured our hearts.  What a sweet girl we have.  She is so full of life and such a happy little pup that you can't help but love her!  I wanted to thank you and Jill her foster mom and Pooches on the Move for giving us our newest family member.  Thanks to all of you for what you do!   Warm regards, Connie Brown

Oscar and Jack (aka Ruger)  Reunion

Picture
These are pictures of my brindle puppy, Jack (formerly Ruger), and his
black and white brother, Jill's puppy, Oscar (formerly Oscar) . Jack's big sister Jelly Bean, the Great Dane, makes an appearance as well. The reunion took place last weekend after Jack and Oscar had been separated for over three weeks! They played the entire time despite both being exhausted from a big day.

Jill was really nice and a great dog trainer as well as a dog rescue volunteer. These boys got great homes and we will have to have more reunions. It's hard to say if they recognized each other or not. It's funny, I whistled for Jack the other day and his head spun around and he ran all over looking for someone. Lori must have whistled for them at dinner time! Have a happy autumn and thank you all for our great, happy
pups!

All my best,
Jen

Charles aka Webster

Picture
Hi Beth,

Just wanted to thank your for all your help. We love Charles (now Webster) and are so excited to have him as part of our family! We really appreciate what you and your organizations does. Keep up the great work!

Popeye AKA JD

Hi,

I adopted a dog from your rescue in early July, on who was fostered by Lila. His name was "Popeye" but now he's "J.D." I was wondering if you could forward this email to Lila since I don't have her email address. I told her I would give her an update on him so I wanted to send her a link to an album of pictures of him....He's the most amazing dog- everyone loves him! Here's the link:
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2207531&id=31701977&l=9d3cb2fffb
Thanks,

Cole Slaw AKA DUKE

Picture
Hi Denise, Just an update with some pictures. We did rename him. The children chose Duke. He's doing great. He gets up once a night to go outside with us then goes back to bed. My oldest daughter hummed to him the first couple of nights and he fell right to sleep. It was so cute.  The neighbors all welcomed him with presents from their dogs. He seems very happy and he adjusted immediately. Hope you like the pictures and I'll keep in touch. Hope all is well with you. Jeanne

Colby AKA Artic

Picture
Dear Beth, My new mom told me it was time to write and let you know how I am doing.  I have now been in my forever home for almost three months and I love it.  I have made lots of new friends.  My new two legged dog friends love me and let me sleep with them at night.  They also take me out to play and hike in the woods with other dogs like me who have two legged dog friends as well.  I have met some really big four legged friends that my two legged friends sit on.  Not sure if the really big four legged friends like me but they seem to be ok with me hanging around and following them. I also live with a couple of four legged dog friends but they talk a little different from me.  There is a crabby old one who lets a big meow like sound out if I go near her so I leave her alone but there is another one who lets me lick her and only once in a while will give me a hiss.  (I think she really likes me.) I have attached some new pictures of me and I just want to send you a big thank you for sending me here.  I couldn't be happier! Love, Colby (a.k.a. Artic)

Spirit AKA Millie

Picture
Hey Beth!
I just wanted to let you know what an angel Spirit is!! We have renamed her Millie.

Millie is just the sweetest puppy. Even between yesterday and today she has made amazing progress in house training and walking on a leash. She is getting along great with Cara, our older dog.

I put her in her crate the first night before going to bed, and she started to cry. I was upstairs thinking "oh no, she is going to cry all night." But after a few minutes, she laid down and went to sleep.

She goes happily into her crate whenever we ask her to and has yet to destroy anything :-)

I know it has only been a few days but I just want to say that anything I was nervous about before was forgotten when we got this little girl out of the van. She came right up to us and started giving us kisses!

She was not even mad that we had to give her a bath as soon as we got home!

Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to have Millie as a part of our family. She fits right in!

Kellie

Oscar the Marshmellow

Picture
Hi Lori and Heather!  Just wanted you to know that Oscar has arrived safely in Maine.  He's such a cutie!!!!  He rode well in the car and has been very sweet.  We had a nice play and we are now investigating the house!

We'll send updates soon.

-Jill

Nick AKA Buster

Picture
Dear Cindy and Lila,
It’s me Nick!  Not sure if you remember me but I was adopted by Kevin and Jamie Cullen from Massachusetts last October.  I’ve been in New England for almost a year and boy have I been busy!  First off I got a name change – my new name is Buster.  At first it was tough to get used to my new name, but over time my identity crisis ended.  In addition, I supervised the raking of the fall leaves, played in my first snowfall,  hung my Christmas stocking, have gone on many walking tours of my new town and most importantly have settled in nicely.  I’ve finally found a great home that’s full of love.

Buster
Woof!

Dallas and Dylan

Everyone is doing great!  They spent their first night in their crate in our bedroom and slept quietly the whole night with only one (outside) bathroom break.  They are figuring out the cats (can't say the cats are too thrilled but they're adjusting too).  They are good on leash and have been to the dog park twice--have met about four or five real city dogs and everyone gets along fine so far.  They really eat fast though--30 seconds for one cup of chow? We are working on slowing them down a bit.  Here is a link to an online gallery where I will post updates every few days.  Thanks again to Shiela, Kenneth, and everyone at POTM.  Geoff   http://cid-461325a585cbf532.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?page=play&resid=461325A585CBF532!141&Bpub=SDX.Photos&Bsrc=GetSharingLink

Tango aka Boone

Picture
Hi, Beth!

It's been seven weeks since we've adopted Tango (formerly Boone). Just wanted to let you know that everything is going so great! He is so healthy. He will be six months on Sunday and he is already about 60 lbs. He is absolutely beautiful. I've attached pictures. Our two other dogs, Killian and Finnegan love him. Finnegan, who is 11 years old, has a whole new lease on life and tries to run and play with Tango and Killian. And, Killian has been waiting for a buddy like Tango for a long time.
Tango spends his days with a long walk in the morning, playing with Killian outside in the yard or with his puppy group, hanging with me and Aaron, and finishing his days off at the ocean for a swim or playing frisbee in the yard. He is starting to really love the water, which is great for his webbed paws! We are every day since I work from home and my husband does a few days per week. He really is loving life and we are loving him! His puppy trainer thinks he is super smart and he is able to be in an advanced puppy group with puppies a couple months older than him! Last night we learned heel and stay.
We have him on Wellness dog food and his coat is looking great. He also loves carrots for treats! Oh, and purified water too - nah, they aren't spoiled. ;) They deserve it!!
Thank you again for the outstanding care and effort you made to ensure that Tango was healthy and happy. He is the most well-adjusted dog I have ever met. Would you please forward this to his foster mom? She can email me at anytime at jsgrueter@comcast.net to check in!
With gratitude,
Jill and Aaron

Molly

Picture
Hi Heather!  Molly arrived at 5:00 am.  She is wonderful!  I have attached some pics for you.  I will send you a full update on her tomorrow.  We are in love with her already.

Rusty

Picture
Hi John, Betty, and Cindy...

Hope all is well down your way, and less relentlessly HOT than it's been hereabouts (tho that seems unlikely). We've had NO rain since mid-May...
Rusty is doing splendidly; fully adjusted, healthy (tho he still has that funny walk), perfectly at home; gets along beautifully with all people and all dogs, still just a bit timid with strangers, which is fine -- I prefer him to be. He adores the water (but doesn't really swim; he's a wader) and actually puts his head under deliberately, unlike any other dog I've ever
seen.
I've attached a video of him playing in the pond at my folks' place (it's a DIVX file to save size; let me know if any trouble playing it), and a photoof him napping in his lair, which he has elaborately hollowed out under the forsythia bush across the driveway, and where we would spend all his free time if we didn't make him come in and drink and cool off occasionally...
Anyway, thought you'd like to see how we're doing, which is just great.
Keep in touch.
---Danny

Dino aka Luka

Picture
Hello everyone at dixie pet! I just wanted to say thanks again for everything you did to make Luka's trip home possible! My whole family loves him and he is doing very well. We started clicker training and he is 100% leash trained now, about 80% house trained and 50% crate trained (we are working on it- hes a good boy). I took him to work with me and everyone at the hospital loved him and he behaved very well. He is now 37.8 IBS! Anyway, I am just sending along my thanks and some photos of Luka!
Lauren

Goober aka Fletcher

Picture
Hi Heather,Fletcher (aka Goober) is dong great.  He is a wonderful dog and he is settling in nicely. We have started obedience classes, and he is eager to please and smart.  He has had lots of fun experiences since coming to PA.  He went camping with me, played at the seashore, learned to swim in a creek, and played with many other dogs at the local dog park. His skin condition has cleared up completely.

Dallas - July 17, 2010

Picture
Hi Heather,
This is Margaret and Ellie. My comcast email was not allowing me to send pictures. (This is Ellie's Yahoo) Dallas is still doing great! He seems to be setteling in, already apart of the family. Although he and the cats still do not see eye to eye, we are hoping for the best. He is such a sweet dog and really well behaved. He is enjoying the long walks with Ellie, she hopes to get him swimming soon! All of our neighbors love him!!! We get lots of comments "What a beautiful dog!" or "Oh, he is so well behaved!" Thank you so much Heather for this wonderful dog!
We will keep you updated with Dally and many photos! -Margaret, Ellie, Dallas, Frankie and the frightend cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Augustus - July 9th

Picture
Hi Heather,
Augustus is doing great so far! He seems to be getting used to his surroundings and loves having Piper here to show him around. I think that she will really help to bring out the puppy in him, and hopefully he can teach her some manners :) He does have the sweetest temperment and I feel as though the bond between us has already begun! I will attach some videos and pictures of the pups, and will be in touch soon with an update.
Thanks again for everything!
Kelly

Ben - July 10th, 2010

Picture
Hello Heather, Just wanted to let you know how Ben's first night/days were going.  So far, so good.  He is a little skiddish, and still learning things.  He certainly loves to give kisses!  He's responding well to our efforts in teaching him leash manners and how to sit.  He doesn't seem to like to come in through the doorway after walks.  He does whine a little whenever I'm out of his sight, hopefully as he adjusts and is more confident in his place here, this isn't something he'll continue to do.  He's made some doggy friends across the street, and everyone that's met him falls in love immediately.  Overall we think he's adjusting well and are very happy to have him here.  :) Thanks againTab and Sarah

Happy aka Tennessee Jed

Picture
Tennessee Jed, beautiful and loving life in his new home.

Buddy

Dear Beth,
Buddy is at home on the farm and feeling like he has always been here! He loves his crate, but slept with me last night for the overnight.  He has been exploring all over the place inside and out with Pidgie, who is 8, and she will teach him how to chase chipmunks and bark at lots of things.  He is wonderful, and I thank you SO much for all your work for him and all his dog friends.
Best Regards,
Abby

Otis - The Pug

Picture

Hello Denise, Sue, and Pam,
This email is long overdue, so I apologize for the delay. Back in March I spoke to each of you about adopting Otis the black pug (who we now call Niles). Since then, he has grown to be such an important part of our family. My previous pug, Daphne, and him got along from day one and they've been at each others side ever since. Thank you all so much for your help and for providing such a great organization in helping homeless dogs find their forever homes! I've attached some pictures of Niles to this email. (in the picture titled Dogs 1, Scooby, my dads pug is in the middle of niles and daphne; Scooby was vacationing at my house for a week so i had to throw a picture of him in there!) The other pictures are of Niles and Daphne.  I hope all is well with everyone, and again, thank you SO MUCH for your help. Niles has added so much to our family; i can't imagine life without him!
All best-  Amanda

Jake

Picture
Hi Heather,
This is Theresa Larson. I adopted Jake in February. He's doing great and is much better with people. He was afraid of them not being aggressive. His obedience classes helped a lot. I'm sending some pictures of Jake and one of me and Jake with his diploma. He's doing really well walking on the the leash and looks forward to our long walks everyday. People always say how cute and what a nice dog he is. I'm so glad we adopted him. Thank you for all you do rescuing dogs and thank his foster mother who did a such a good job taking care of him and show her the pictures if you can.
Thank you,
Theresa

Buddy

Picture
Hi Heather,
I'm taking alot of "regular" pictures, so PLEASE  let me know your address so I can send them to you.
Buddy, our new love, is doing great.  He's very adaptive to new routines, etc. His schedule is: TV on our bed with us until 10:00pm or so then onto his own bed  (his choice) until 5:00AM.  Then lets us know he wants back up to cuddle until we get up around 7:00.   Downstairs to go out and then in for breakfast....kibble with some people food (chopped hard boiled egg, bites of cooked chicken, etc mixed in.). Vet said that was fine.   Looks forward to going with Howie on errands, especially to the drivethrough at the bank where he gets a treats. And yes he is great in the car.    Back home for lunch and then lots of playing, ball retrieving (he doesn't give it up willingly) and playing with his toys.   Always close by to us with dinner preparations..his head on my feet as I stand at the counter doing stuff. And, for that matter, Always in petting distance to one of us which is great.   He is now outdoors off leash, but still always kept in sight.  And he is learning to come when called.  (although that could be improved upon particularly when there are chipmonks around )  We won't be leaving the door open for  him to come and go until he has been here for a few months and really knows the lay of the land.  Our house is about 600 feet from a deadend dirt road with no traffic to speak of...only 14 homes and most just weekenders, so no worries there.   We took him to our vet who checked him out, gave him a lime shot, etc and who was impressed with Buddy because he was so friendly and calm.
Vet thought he definitely was some Golden but probably had some terrier as well.  Anyway, whatever he his, he's totally wonderful.
And I think he is definitely loving us back as well.   So please send your address for the pics.  Obviously you are very fond of him and took great care with him.
Best, Melissa

Kennedy

Picture
Hi Cindy & Denise,   We just wanted to give you an update on Kennedy's (formerly "Buster Brown") progress.  In short, Kennedy is one of the greatest things to ever happen to our lives.  He makes us both so very happy, and he certainly seems happy to be with us.  He quickly has stolen our hearts and consumed our lives, and we couldn't imagine our lives without him!  While becoming the king of our house, Kennedy also enjoys daily trips with me to the office, where my officemates have quickly adopted him as the office mascot.   We both want to thank you, along with Kennedy's foster mother Melissa, for saving Kennedy, and for giving us the opportunity to adopt him.  The work that you all do truly is God's work, and thanks to you all we have a wonderful life companion.  We sing your praises every chance we get, and pass your info along to anyone searching for a dog.   Again, many thanks from the bottoms of our hearts, from David, Tamar and Kennedy!

Marissa

Lila,
Marissa is one DARLING pup.  You did such a good job.  Honestly.  Not a single accident in the house and she slept through the night!  Amazing.  She is so congenial and loving. Follows us everywhere.  She does seem to want to eat the carpets, but stops with a sharp Uh-UH!  We had the grandkids here today (3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old boys).  They are not rambunctious, but one worries about small children around a new puppy.  Marissa adored the children and was so playful -- not a single "nippy" incident. Whew!  She chased balls and fetched.  After a little while, poor puppy got a little worn out, so I had the older one put her dinner in the crate.  She ate heartily and crashed.  Then the whole family had "quiet time" so the puppy could have a nap and a rest.  We all talked in whispers.  It was so cute.
My youngest son, Alex (age 22) wanted to take her home with him!  He is a college student and lives in Boston; I have never seen him so enthralled, cooing, petting, and saying over and over "She is just the cutest"! (Puppies are "chick magnets", so maybe there is an ulterior motive.  Ha!)
I was SO SKEPTICAL about adopting a puppy on-line, sight-unseen.  My vet told me that many clients had had good experiences, plus talking with all of you folks at PoochesOnTheMove was a positive experience because your dedication and honesty came through on the phone.  Just wanted you to know how appreciative we are.
One more thing.  The little girl down the street is named "Marissa", and we are friends with the family.  Calling the pup "Marissa" seemed a little awkward.  She has been renamed "Maggie",  a term of endearment in our family.  Hope you don't mind.
Just wanted to give you an update.  Gotta go to bed.  She does make a LOT OF NOISE about 6:00A wanting to go out.  I will upload the photos and send a couple.  We are terrible photohgraphers, but maybe there will be one or two good ones.

All best regards,
Colleen

Clancy aka Gomer

Picture
Hello guys, I just wanted to update you about clancy, he is doing great. He is over 60lbs and still getting bigger! He loves to run in the yard, chase birds, bunnies and anything else that moves. He still has a great personality and is always looking to be the center of attention. the first two pictures are of him as a puppy still running and playing in the snow(which he loves to do too). The third is early spring and the last two are of him currently. We will send more in the future.
Thanks again for a great dog
Michael

Cody aka Rugby

Picture
I think that Cody, now Rugby, had a great weekend.  He met his cousin, Oli as well as got to know Cricket a bit.  Oli, being an 11 month old puppy himself was definitely the more favored, as he was very willing to play his heart out.  As a result, rugby went to sleep at about 10 in the kennel and did not wake up until 4:50 am.  Last night was a bit more trouble as he woke at 1:30 and again at 5, but he went back in the kennel after doing his thing and only cried for about 15 minutes.  I'm sure we will get a rhythm going quickly.  A pocket full of liver treats has resulted in his coming to Rugby on a fairly consistent basis and we believe that he should have it down shortly. As I type, both he and Cricket are asleep behind my desk chair with Rugby's head on Cricket's tail so, while she has been a bit aloof, I think the relationship should grow.  I'll send a note later in the week as we have a vet appointment on Wednesday.

Dolly

Picture
Hi Denise (and Cindy and Lila)!
Just wanted to touch base...Dolly is doing BEAUTIFULLY!  She has been an absolute angel since we picked her up early this morning.  She slept and chewed on her cow hoof on the way home and went to bed in her new crate without any problems.  She slept through and has been enjoying her new family all day (with naps in between of course!)  Our kids LOVE her and so do all of our other pets (we think she likes us too!).  What a perfect match!
We'll keep in touch!Thank you again for all you do for these amazing animals :o)
Sincerely,
The Durkin Family

Sibil Sage AKA Maxie

Picture
Hi Cindy,
We adopted Sibil Sage now known as Maxie. She is doing great, taking her to puppy classes so she's learning all kinds of new ticks. My oldest daughter MaKayla sleeps by her side every night,it was a bond they both needed. We are so thankful to you and everyone else for all the great work you do, I love reading the great stories on your newsletters and how you all pull together. You all are the best, take care.   Candy

King and KJ

Picture
Hi Cindy,   I just came across your email and I wanted to follow up with you guys and let you see King!   He's doing fantastic! He's the best dog ever! He has a little brother that was born February 21st and he loves him! :)   Brittney*

Polly Anna aka Dixie

Picture
Hi Heather,
We are having the best time with her! We have renamed her Dixie
because she came from TN and I am from NC. She didn't really know
PollyAnna too well. She is such a joy! She loves people and had no
problem what so ever adjusting! She just makes us so happy. We took
her to the memorial day parade today in the Town Square and she was a
hit! She should have been in the parade! I have taken tons of pictures
and I have attached some!! Here is the facebook link to my profile and the album of her.

George W. Bush

Picture
Although I had great luck with my first Miss Linda’s adoption (Gus), I had planned to take some time without a dog after he passed away in March.
Then, several weeks ago, Melissa asked if I would help by fostering a dog for a short period of time until a permanent home could be found. Realizing it would only be  short term and after some thought, I agreed.
I met Melissa in Augusta that Saturday to pick up George W. Bush, a 7 month old terrier mix. On Monday morning I notified her to start the adoption paperwork because I wanted him. George is a sweet loving little guy who quickly wins over everyone he meets. I had some initial concerns about bringing him to work with me (I have a small law office) which were quickly relieved once he arrived. His personality makes him a hit with staff and clients. Now, George W. Bush (that is still his name despite the objections of a few) spends a good deal of his day running back and forth visiting with my assistant, Tammy, and then with me. I have to admit we probably don’t get as much work done now as before; however, thanks to George, it is a much more pleasant place to work.
He is truly a joy to be around. My thanks to you, Melissa and all of the wonderful people in your organization whose efforts on behalf of such deserving animals brings happiness into their lives and the lives of their adoptive parents.

Douglas

Picture
I am writing not only to update you but also to thank you. Douglas has been with me for a few months now and has really settled in. He has become everything I could have ever dreamed he would be and so much more. He is a wonderful, smart, warm, friendly soul and truly enriches my life daily. We still run between 3 and 5 miles a day. We make trips to the local park 3 times a week for him to exercises and play while meeting new dogs. He has been welcomed with open arms into my family and I honestly believe he has understood this process and behaves as he does because he is so thankful to us all for his new situation here with me. I am so happy to have been able to give a loving home to such a wonderful animal and I am thankful to everyone involved on your end of things as well for being the bridge connecting our two worlds. Attached is a photo of him in his favorite place (the foot of my bed).

Thank you again. He means the world to me and you have helped to make that happen.
Regards,
Zach Sawyer & Douglas

Maxwell

Picture
Dear Foster Mother, Thank you so much for rescuing me, and finding me my home.  Love, Maxwell

Adele

Picture
Adele is adjusting very well, we picked her up May 15th, attached is a picture of her with her new kids!!! We named her Kali-Adele.  She is eating pooping and peeing.  She has not had any house breaking issues thus far.  She has a well visit scheduled with the vet this comming Thursday.

Begonia AKA Maya

Picture
Thank you so much for a wonderful process, everything went smoothly from the first time we saw her picture! She is doing awesome.  She was very skittish when she first arrived, wouldn’t come out of her crate.  But since late yesterday she’s been my shadow, can’t stop licking my face and following my every footstep, insisted on sleeping on my bed last night.  She loves being outside, taking walks, knows to do her business as soon as we go outside.  She’s not eating much, but I think that’s the van lag.  I’ve attached pictures – she’s supervising me while I garden!  She loves to sit in this chair. I’ve already recommended you to another woman on the island who was trying to adopt privately from Florida and it was not going well.
Thanks for everything,
 Shirley and Maya

Spencer

Picture
Hi there, Here is a picture of Spencer and his girls!  We are all just right in love with this pup.  He is smart and gentle and very sweet.  Spencer seems to be getting into the routine nicely.  We start obedience classes at Woodlawn Kennels this Sunday and I expect him to do very well.  I was wondering about his breed, I know you probably do not have a lot of specifics, but when it was stated Lab/St. Bernard mix, do you know for sure about the Bernard?  Our vet was curious as he sees Boxer and Lab but was questioning the Bernard.  It is not any difference to us, he is a delight no matter what but since the vet mentioned it, we have just been curious.    Could you tell Karen, Spencer's foster mom, that she did a wonderful job with him.  He is just so kind that you know she was a lovely home for him.  I really appreciated her note too.   I also really appreciate you making that arduous trip up.  Perhaps someday if you get to spend longer in N.H. that your brief stop, you'll want to come up a bit farther to where we are in the lakes region, it is lovely and you may enjoy it more than the Park and Ride:)    Thanks so much! The Blewitt Family

Marlee

Picture
Hey Lila,
Just wanted to send you a quick update. Marlee is doing really good. She's so happy to see us when we get home. We have had issues with barking, but I think that's slowly resolving itself. We have a dog walker coming twice a week. I think she's even making friends with the cat. The cat would say otherwise, but I think she secretly likes her!  =)  House breaking is getting better, she hasn't had any accidents in a couple weeks and she's starting to whine to go out. I have had to switch to rubber toys, any stuffed toys last about a day before both eyes and nose are missing and stuffing is all over the place. She has one stuffed bear that my son gave her that she sleeps with, it's so cute! I've attached a couple of pictures...
Kerri

Starr

Picture
Hi Heather,

Starr is absolutely gorgeous!! She is acclimating to the house very easily and falling into the routine.
She is such a sweetheart. I am so glad I have adopted her. Yesterday she sunbathed on the deck.
She and Shiloh are getting used to each other. He is not sure he wants to share his house and mom….
But tonight they were playing alittle, so I think over time they will become good friends.
Thank you for a wonderful dog. I have attached a couple of pictures
Laura

Guilford AKA Brewski

Picture
I just want to thank you again for being us our new lil boy. He is perfect in every way, he has settled in very nicely and is getting right into his own lil routine. I hope you guys don't mind but we did change his name, Guilford just didn't seem to fit him, we now call him Brewski and he seems to respond to it very nicely. He is awesome and I love him so very much!!!  He discovered his voice today while playing with my brothers puppy and I'm very surprised he actually has a big boy bark unlike his 2 week older cousin tank who still has that squeaky bark. lol Shawn loves him to pieces and has turned into quite the softy now that he's around. :) I don't know if its possible but if u could thank his foster mommy for me as well she did awesome with him he knows so much. He has had very little accidents in the house and knows right where to go when he does need to go out. He also knows how to sit and stay which is awesome I didn't expect him to know this much, so whatever she did with him I want to thank her for it sooo soo much. I was so excited to find out he loved us just as much as we did him when he first saw us. He melted my heart as soon as u handed him to me n he wrapped those big ol' paws around me n gave me all those kisses. Your rescue organization is amazing and I will recommend you to anyone that tells me they are looking for a dog.  I cant thank you enough, you have given us a lifetime full of love and happiness with our new lil man. I'll attach some pictures of him for you if u'd like to post it to ur website. He loves to get his picture taken and i cant stop snapping them. He is the most amazing lil guy ever and i owe you soo much for bringing him into our lives. thank you
Sincerly,
Sam

Shane Comes Home

Picture
Hi!
Here's a link to my Multiply site with a few images from the night Shane came to our house (and the couple days following) as well as some video of him playing with our 12 year old puppy, George. http://teganmcg.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Shane_Comes_Home http://teganmcg.multiply.com/video/item/138/Shane_and_George_Playing http://teganmcg.multiply.com/video/item/137
He's an awesome addition. We went out to the vet last week for a weigh in and he's up to 90 pounds now (He was ~80 when he came to us). I'm still working from home so when the weather is nice I've been spending my lunch hour walking him around the neighborhood. One of the other Great Pyr's (Bella) that came up at the same time as Shane lives about 30 minutes north of us and I'm hoping to get the two of them together for a visit soon. -Matthew

Jackie AKA Grace

Picture
Hi- I promise I won't keep on with the e-mails.  I'm just sitting here, looking at Grace asleep in her little red bed next to me and I am so thankful  to all of you for getting her here to me. Did you know . . . Grace can jump up on the sofa, up in Dad's chair, up in Mom's chair, go down the steps into the yard (had planned on a ramp) and back up and on to Mom and Dad's bed.  I had thought I'd get those upholstered steps.  Nooooo Grace handles it all.  I am glad I got the two nice wooden pet gates from Orvis for the top and bottom of the stairway - no doubt she'd try that as well.  Tonight she'll sleep on our bed.  Last night I thought she might wander and fall off the bed so wanted to try the crate but I don't like that.  She never made a sound but stared at me till I turned out the lamp.  Tonight will be different - she'll be right where she belongs. I am going to check with Dr. Feher (my vet) to be sure she's not hurting herself with the jumping.  She is so fast, zips around and follows me every step but then naps easily.  She loves to give kisses and Mom here loves to receive them.  She ate her dinner and breakfast and goes to the back door to announce she needs to go out.  On the way home we noticed how she watched traffic and such - going to get her a car seat for my car. She is just perfect and we are so very very happy.
Thank you again for my/our little girl.

Love to you all,
Mary
PS:  Please thank the ladies again for driving such a long way.

Sara AKA Emmy

Picture
Hi!
Its been a while- I hope all is well with you!
I just wanted to give you an update on little Sara. Her name is actually
Emmy now. She is still a tiny little thing. She is very healthy, has gained 3 lbs since I got her (she's now 12 lbs)...she's very energetic, very lovable, and doesn't stop kissing. I couldn't have asked for a better puppy.
The vet says she is extremely healthy and has a great personality. I'm keeping her up to date on all of her shots. And we have a big open fenced in yard that she LOVES running around in and playing ball (she's slowly learning to bring the ball back when we throw it).
We have just a couple issues that we are working out with her-- she humps legs and bites fingers and toes. I'm hoping she will grow out of it, but for now we are trying every way possible to get her to stop.
Besides that, everything is great with her! She still hasn't grown into her big ears and she loves to sleep like a human baby haha. I've attached a few pictures for you of her at home.
Thank you for everything!
Gina

Woody - Finally Home

Picture
Hi,   Woody's going great!  He is extremely affectionate, and so darn cute.  He wants so badly to play with my other dog(jake) but Jake's just to old.  All is going well.  I send some pictures soon.  Thanks for everything.    Cindy

Becca

Picture
Becca and my little Shadow are getting along well. They actually just finished a play session and now are both sound asleep!  Becca at first had a raw hide aggression (which Linda did mention when I went up) but she has learned it will not be tolerated and now either just trots away with it if Shadow comes along, ignores him altogether, or initiates a play session which of course, he loves the most. She has taken to everyone in the family including Shadow and is WELL on her way to being housebroken.  When Shadow barks to alert us of someone in the driveway or coming into the house, Becca runs around mimicking him having no idea why she's barking or even where to look.  It's quite a sight to see!  She's also following Shadow's lead when he goes "out" on what she's supposed to do. And when she's at the door looking out, don't call her bluff because when she goes out, she HAS to go!  We have had a couple of accidents in the house and only the first night we brought her home did she have an accident in the crate.  I thoroughly cleaned it, sprayed it with the urine odor blocker spray, lined it with a pee-pee pad and I've created a cut off time at night for water as a test.  The result: the last 2 nights have had no problems.  I'm hoping that trend continues.
We've started clicker training so that she gets familiar with the click and treat method.  She has learned to sit on command with no hesitation
(thank you to Linda for beginning to teach her!) and she has learned to give me her paw when asked.  She is extremely food motivated and will do anything for even a crumb.  We do have to work on that a bit as sometimes she gets so focused on that one little piece that she doesn't know what to do with her tiny body!  She will be getting signed up for the next session of puppy classes when I take her to the vet (either Wednesday or the beginning of next week) and hopefully classes will begin soon. I really do believe she will benefit greatly from the same classes that Shadow went to. I will contact you after the vet visit as well to let you know how she makes out.

Have a great day!!
Smile always,
Jennifer
